About Your Company

King Deux is expanding its venture capital team, backed by two new funds totaling $300+ million and a partnership with a global private equity firm. While our initial focus is on the Western AI sector, we are now seeking a Biotech Specialist to strengthen our team.

The successful candidate will have a robust academic background in a relevant field and will be responsible for working with a Principal on deal sourcing, due diligence, IC memo preparation, and portfolio management.

About your role

• Deal Sourcing & Evaluation: Proactively source and identify new investment opportunities through academic networks, scientific conferences, and industry relationships.

• Deep Due Diligence: Lead the technical and scientific due diligence on potential investments. This includes critically assessing target mechanisms of action, preclinical/clinical data, intellectual property landscapes, and competitive positioning.

• Financial Analysis & Modeling: Build and analyze financial models, develop investment theses, and prepare detailed investment memoranda for presentation to the Investment Committee.

• Market & Sector Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on specific therapeutic areas, technology platforms, and market trends to inform the firm's investment strategy.

• Portfolio Support: Work closely with portfolio company management teams, providing strategic support on scientific, operational, and business development initiatives.

• Network Development: Build and maintain a strong network with key opinion leaders, academic researchers, and industry executives.

What you will need to succeed

• You hold a Ph.D. or an M.D. in a relevant life sciences discipline (e.g., Molecular Biology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a related field). A post-doc or equivalent industry research experience is a significant plus.

• You have 5-7 years of total professional experience, with a significant portion spent in a relevant setting such as: Life Sciences Venture Capital or Private Equity / Equity Research (Biotech/Pharma sector)

• You possess a deep passion for science and a demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and evaluate complex scientific concepts and data.

• You have strong analytical and financial skills, with experience building financial models and conducting company valuations.

• You are a proactive self-starter with exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively to both scientific and financial audiences.

• You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and are willing to travel internationally as required.
