At pRED, we are united by our mission to transform science into medicines. Together, we create a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility, and humility, where our talented people are empowered and inspired to bring forward extraordinary, life-changing innovation at speed.
At the intersection of science and innovation, pRED’s Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) organisation enables the discovery and development of safe and effective therapeutics at optimal doses in relevant populations with a vision to power translation, continuously improve the accuracy of our predictions and accelerate the development of tomorrow's medicines. By seamlessly integrating our three core pillars—Translational Safety, Translational Pharmacology, and Biomarkers—we drive end-to-end asset development across the entire value chain, from target assessment to on-market support. Our mission is to continuously improve predictive accuracy, optimise dosing strategies for the right patient populations, and accelerate the development of tomorrow's safe and effective therapeutics.
As a Senior Associate - Bioanalytical LC-MS Assay Developer within our Bioanalytics and Biomarkers (BioAM) department, you will play a central role in shaping the non-regulated preclinical and exploratory clinical pipeline. You will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and validating advanced bioanalytical methods to quantify drug candidates and biomarkers across diverse chemical classes—ranging from small molecules and oligonucleotides to complex proteins. In this role, you combine hands-on laboratory expertise with modern digital tools to transform biological samples into high-quality data that directly impacts project decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, qualify, and validate analytical methods for the accurate quantification of drug candidates, metabolites, and biomarkers in various biological matrices.
Apply bioanalytical and biomarker assays to support non-clinical pharmacokinetic (PK) and toxicokinetic (TK) studies, as well as exploratory clinical studies following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles where required.
Ensure accurate documentation of all experimental data and contribute to comprehensive technical reporting, including Bioanalytical Reports and Analytical Method Descriptions.
Take ownership of laboratory equipment care, maintenance, and the management of consumable stocks within your assigned workspace to guarantee operational excellence.
Maintain, refine, and proactively advance your technical expertise in Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and automated sample preparation.
Leverage IT and digital tools for efficient experimental design, data analysis, and documentation, presenting scientific results confidently to cross-functional project teams.
You are a proactive, quality-driven scientific professional who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative laboratory environment. You have a passion for analytical precision, a strong interest in emerging laboratory technologies, and a mindset geared toward continuous learning and optimization.
Qualifications & Competencies:
A Master’s degree (from a University or University of Applied Sciences) or a Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, supplemented by relevant professional experience
Solid hands-on experience and training in modern analytical techniques, specifically focusing on quantitative liquid chromatography combined with mass spectrometric detection (LC-MS/MS).
Proficient track record utilizing computerized data acquisition systems, analytical processing software, and automated sample preparation techniques.
Demonstrated capability or strong open mindset toward utilizing IT and digital/AI-supported workflows for experimental design, data tracking, and data presentation.
Excellent team spirit with a dedicated focus on delivery, open communication, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional partner departments to meet project timelines.
