Senior Associate, Private Markets Fund Accounting

About the Role

As a Senior Associate, Private Markets Fund Accounting, you will play a key role in overseeing fund accounting operations for private markets clients, supporting the accuracy and delivery of NAV calculations, financial reporting, and client deliverables. You’ll review accounting records, guide day-to-day processes, and help ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements.

In this role, you’ll serve as a primary point of contact for clients, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues and enhance processes. You’ll also support onboarding new funds and contribute to process improvements, making this an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership-oriented role while deepening your expertise in private markets within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Assist in the preparation and/or review of daily, weekly, and monthly NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations for assigned funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and client agreements.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting records.
  Prepare and review financial statements, investor reports, and other ad-hoc reporting for clients.
• Act as a primary point of contact for client inquiries and maintain strong client relationships.
  Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, legal, and compliance, to resolve issues and optimize processes.
• Participate in the onboarding of new clients and funds, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate setup.
• Assist in the development and implementation of best practices and process improvements within the fund accounting department.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Support audit requests and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.

Required Experience

• 2+ years of experience in fund accounting, with a strong understanding of various investment vehicles (e.g., hedge funds, private equity, mutual funds).

What Sets You Apart

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CFA designation is a plus.
• Proven knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in fund accounting software (e.g., Advent Geneva, Sungard Investran, SS&C HiPortfolio) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
