
About the role
The Alternative Assets Senior Associate will assist in leading investments including the sourcing, modeling, evaluation, legal negotiation, execution and monitoring of alternative assets for SIM’s clients, and in particular, its affiliated life insurance clients. The successful candidate will assist in executing this strategy with a particular emphasis on the unique needs and/or constraints of each corresponding client portfolio, and in a way that balances sometimes competing objectives such as risk, long-term return, capital and/or tax efficiency, and other factors. The investable universe is expected to include externally managed positions, such as private equity, private credit, secondaries, affordable housing tax credit funds, CLO equity, co-investments, and other potential areas as identified by the Head of Alternative Assets and approved internally. The alternatives team will coordinate due diligence with the internal investment committee and other members of the SIM front office with expertise in relevant areas, as applicable. Close collaboration with key stakeholders, accounting, legal, operations, compliance, and reporting at SIM and Symetra Life will also be critical to ensure the timely delivery of, results, and benchmarking that meet portfolio manager and client requirements.
This is a hybrid work role based in Farmington Connecticut (Mandatory 2 days in office)

Compensation
Salary Range: $145,900 – $197,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
