We're looking for a motivated and ambitious Senior Assistant Accountant to join our Financial Control team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification and is ready to take on team leadership and involvement in management accounting activities.

As a Senior Assistant Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the production of accurate financial information, managing a team of Assistant Accountants, and working closely with Management Accountants to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the daily workload of a team of Assistant Accountants.
• Acting as the first point of escalation for operational finance queries.
• Supporting the production of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Preparing and reviewing accruals and prepayments across the business.
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity.
• Supporting cost tracking and financial analysis.
• Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to gather and validate financial information.
• Assisting with audit preparation and compliance requirements.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Previous experience within a finance or accounting environment.
• Current studies towards ACCA or CIMA qualifications.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders.
