Job Description

About ElectraNet

ElectraNet builds, owns, operates and maintains South Australia’s high voltage electricity transmission network—connecting generators to distributors and major customers, and powering homes, businesses and communities.

Our people describe our culture as supportive, inclusive and community-focused, where we genuinely want each other to succeed. As we lead the transition to a clean energy future, we’re committed to delivering innovative solutions that enable smarter asset management and stronger network performance.

The Opportunity

The network doesn't just need engineers. It needs people who can see what's next.

Every asset tells a story. Some reveal risks before they happen. Others uncover opportunities to improve reliability, optimise performance and maximise long-term value. The opportunity lies in transforming insight into action.

As a Senior Asset Strategy Analyst – Substations, you'll help shape the future of South Australia's electricity transmission network by influencing the decisions that drive asset performance, resilience and reliability for decades to come. Working at the intersection of engineering, strategy and analytics, you'll develop the frameworks, standards and asset strategies that underpin critical infrastructure decisions and support one of the world's most ambitious energy transitions.

If you're energised by solving complex challenges, questioning conventional thinking and making a tangible impact on the future of essential infrastructure, this is your opportunity to help power what's next.

This isn't about maintaining the network. It's about helping define its future.

What You'll be Trusted to Do

You'll play a key role in shaping the strategy, performance and future direction of ElectraNet's substation asset portfolio. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and enhance asset strategies, technical frameworks and engineering standards that guide long-term network decisions.
  • Analyse asset risk, condition and performance data to identify trends, emerging issues and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Influence major investment, replacement and maintenance decisions through robust lifecycle, reliability and risk-based analysis.
  • Contribute to key asset management frameworks including SCAR, RCM and TALC.
  • Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams and industry stakeholders to deliver strategic, high-impact outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance and help drive continuous improvement across asset management practices.

About You

You're naturally curious and analytical. You enjoy diving into complex technical problems but can also step back and see the bigger picture. You're capable of translating data, trends and engineering information into clear recommendations that influence decision-making and drive outcomes.

Most importantly, you're someone who enjoys challenging assumptions, improving the way things are done and contributing to decisions that create long-term value.
To be successful, you'll bring:

  • Approximately 10–15 years' experience in asset management, engineering, asset strategy, reliability or technical analysis of high voltage electrical assets within transmission, distribution, utilities or other asset-intensive industries.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle optimisation and asset performance analysis.
  • Experience developing technical standards, specifications, strategies and governance frameworks.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to interpret complex technical information.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, standards and asset management practices relevant to the electricity sector.
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.

Employee Benefits

We’re proud to offer a workplace that is supportive, inclusive and genuinely committed to your success. When you join ElectraNet, you join a team that values diversity, collaboration and continuous learning. For this role, we offer a competitive remuneration package starting from $160,900 plus superannuation and a performance bonus eligibility of up to 15%. In addition to this, we also offer:

  • 5 weeks annual leave.
  • 15 days personal/carer’s leave.
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave.
  • Flexible work options & wellbeing programs.
  • Additional paid volunteering and office closure leave.
  • Relocation support provided.
  • Ongoing professional development and certification support.
  • A vibrant and community focused team culture.
  • Regular social events and activities.
