As a Senior Asset Performance Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping the performance, reliability and future readiness of AusNet's distribution network. By optimising asset performance across the lifecycle, you will help balance cost, risk, compliance and customer outcomes while supporting Victoria's energy transition.

This is a highly technical and strategic role within the Asset Management team, directly influencing the resilience and reliability of the electricity network that powers Victorian communities.

Based in Southbank with a hybrid working arrangement, you'll work closely with engineers, analysts and key stakeholders to drive evidence-based investment decisions and asset strategies.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Manage asset performance objectives across multiple asset classes, aligned with AusNet's asset management framework, risk appetite and compliance obligations
  • Analyse asset performance gaps and identify opportunities to improve network reliability and value
  • Partner with engineers and stakeholders to develop and prioritise interventions, balancing performance, cost, risk, compliance and quality outcomes
  • Build robust business cases and secure funding for asset investments, including regulatory investment assessments where required
  • Utilise data, analytics and forecasting to monitor trends, predict future asset performance and inform strategic decision-making
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation, standards, codes and internal policies
  • Champion innovation and digital advancements that enhance network performance and support the energy transition

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Advanced analytical capability to assess asset performance
  • Demonstrated experience in asset management within an asset-intensive organisation
  • Experience in the utilities or energy sector (preferred)
  • Strong strategic thinking and understanding of asset management principles
  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate options, develop recommendations and prioritise investment decisions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams
