Job Description

We are working closely with a local authority in Somerset to assist with the appointment of a Senior Assessment Review Officer, on a 4.5- months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £268.21- £368.98 per day

The Senior Assessment Review Officer provides senior operational support within the SEND Assessment and Review Team, ensuring that statutory Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) assessment and review processes are managed effectively, consistently and within required legal timescales.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track EHC needs assessments, annual reviews, reassessments and phase transfers.
  • Ensure case decisions are properly considered, recorded and communicated.
  • Review case records to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Identify recurring issues, delays and service pressures and contribute to appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure actions arising from complaints, mediation or tribunal processes are appropriately monitored.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in SEND, education, children's services, social care or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of the statutory SEND framework.

Essentials:

  • Significant experience of working with SEND statutory processes and EHC Plans.
  • Experience of monitoring EHC assessments, annual reviews, reassessments or phase transfers.
  • Experience of working within statutory timescales and identifying and resolving delays.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
