Provide specialized architectural and/or urban design and landscape architecture services; prepares programs, documents, correspondence and presentations related to architectural and/or urban design and landscape architecture projects; serves as a liaison between the City, contractors and other related groups in order to help see a project through to completion; supervises the work of subordinate personnel.
Additional information related to the Position
The Senior Landscape Architect (LA) is needed within the Planning and Design Division to strengthen project delivery, improve design consistency, and maintain the quality of Cincinnati Parks assets across the entire park system.
Specifically, this position will:
Overall, the Senior Landscape Architect will provide the specialized design expertise necessary to help Cincinnati Parks deliver thoughtful, durable, historically sensitive, and high-quality improvements that support both current community needs and the long-term stewardship of the Park system.

Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of architecture and/or urban design and landscape design theory.
Auto CAD programs and their use.
Landscape materials and practices.
Facility management principles.
Construction -materials -and -methods.
Cost estimation; budget management procedures.
Principles of management, supervision and -training.
Ability to:
Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Create -drafting/architectural/landscape architectural -drawings.
Estimate costs and time requirements of construction requirements.
Prepare contract documents, specifications, requests for proposals and other documents.
Manage construction and landscape installation projects.
Work with a wide range of people, from construction workers to community leaders.
Analyze and solve complex -problems.
Make architectural presentations to the -public.
Use computer office applications to prepare necessary documents and correspondence.
Manage, supervise and train subordinate personnel; assign work to subordinate -personnel.
PROMOTIONAL:
Each applicant must have three years experience with the City of Cincinnati as an Architecture Intern plus a Bachelor's degree (five- or six-year track) from an accredited college or university in architecture.
OPEN:
Each applicant must have a Bachelor's degree (four-year to six-year track) from an accredited college or university in architecture or landscape architecture. If not registered in Ohio when appointed, Ohio registration must be obtained during the probationary period.
OTHER REOURIEMENTS
Possession of an architectural license by the Ohio State Board of Examiners of Architects as Professional Architect or possession of a landscape architecture license.
Possession of a valid Driver's License.
MILITARY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE EVALUATION
Military education and experience may be substituted for college level course work at the lower and upper division baccalaureate and graduate levels and apprenticeship training at the vocational certificate level on a case by case basis based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide recommendations.
