Job Description

Senior Architect – Commercial Platforms & Integrations (Salesforce, Veeva)

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact on Alkermes’ next‑generation CRM landscape while building deep, practical experience across Salesforce, Veeva, and enterprise integrations.

You’ll work at the center of Alkermes’ AI‑ and data‑enabled CRM transformation, gaining hands‑on ownership of meaningful solution and integration workstreams that support critical commercial and patient‑facing capabilities.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, takes pride in “building it right and keeping it running,” and is looking to grow their technical depth, ownership mindset, and enterprise systems experience—while contributing to work that directly supports Alkermes’ mission and future growth.

This position will work a weekly hybrid schedule in our Waltham office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own assigned CRM solution and integration workstreams from design through deployment and stabilization.

  • Define and review event‑driven and API‑led integration patterns (REST, async, streaming where applicable) aligned with Salesforce, Veeva, and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft.

  • Review and validate implementation partner designs, customizations, and integration code to ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices, Life Sciences compliance expectations, and enterprise standards.

  • Guide configuration‑first and low‑code approaches versus customization to support maintainability and scale.

  • Partner with integration vendors and internal engineers to implement approved integration patterns and data flows.

  • Support testing, validation, and release readiness activities, including defect triage and go‑live support.

  • Deliver post‑launch enhancements, manage large data volumes, and optimize platform performance.

  • Lead incident triage and root‑cause analysis for complex Salesforce, Veeva, and integration issues.

  • Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and inputs to monitoring and operational readiness artifacts.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8–10+ years in CRM, enterprise architecture, or integration roles
  • Proven ability to review SI deliverables, ensuring high‑quality design, clean code, and adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Experience governing integrations, customizations, and deployments across distributed internal and vendor teams.
  • Hands‑on development experience for enhancements, integration extensions, and performance tuning in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with environment management, release management, CI/CD pipelines, and application monitoring
  • Strong incident management and root‑cause analysis skills for complex, cross‑platform issues.

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience with Salesforce‑based CRM platforms; MuleSoft experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of API‑based and event‑driven integrations (REST, async).
  • Experience supporting Salesforce Data Cloud or enterprise data integrations.
  • Familiarity with large data volume (LDV) considerations, data modeling, indexing, and performance optimization.
  • Experience supporting releases, environment coordination, and production monitoring.
  • Knowledge of compliance‑driven design in regulated life‑sciences environments.
  • Exposure to Salesforce Industry Clouds and life‑sciences CRM ecosystems is a plus.

Travel:

  • Hybrid or onsite in Waltham, MA

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $145,000 to $162,000. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual performance pay bonus. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, training, knowledge, and experience. Alkermes offers a competitive benefits package.
