Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Architect in our Denver, CO office to provide design leadership, technical expertise, and project delivery support across a diverse portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded architect with more than 20 years of experience spanning planning, design, documentation, client engagement, mentoring, and multidisciplinary coordination. This role is intended for a recognized senior practitioner who can help shape project vision, elevate design quality, and support strategic growth of the architectural practice.

Initial assignments may include leadership roles on complex architectural projects involving multidisciplinary coordination, design leadership, technical oversight, client engagement, and mentorship of project teams.

Your role

  • Lead architectural teams through planning, design, documentation, and implementation phases on complex projects.
  • Provide senior-level design and technical leadership, ensuring project goals, design intent, and quality standards are maintained throughout project execution.
  • Serve as a senior design and technical resource, providing guidance and quality review for project teams across multiple market sectors.
  • Contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of projects across a range of market sectors and facility types.
  • Lead or participate in programming, visioning, conceptual design, and design charrettes.
  • Guide project vision, design direction, material selection, and overall architectural quality throughout project delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal disciplines to develop creative and technically sound design solutions.
  • Lead design presentations, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Support design decision-making throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Contribute to schedule, budget, constructability, and implementation strategies.
  • Direct and oversee architectural documentation and technical deliverables.
  • Direct and mentor project teams and junior staff.
  • Promote firmwide quality standards through design reviews, technical guidance, and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Support proposal development, interviews, client engagement, and business development activities.
  • Review and redline drawings using Bluebeam or equivalent tools.
  • Lead or support facility assessments, master planning efforts, site observations, and field documentation.
  • Maintain a flexible, team-oriented mindset and willingness to support projects across multiple market sectors.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Master's preferred).
  • Registered Architect (RA), with ability to obtain additional licenses as required.
  • 20+ years of professional architectural experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project teams and coordinating consultants through multiple phases of design and construction.
  • Experience with complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam and a working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Strong design, technical writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience serving in a design leadership, technical leadership, or project leadership capacity.
  • Experience leading complex projects through multiple phases of design and construction.
  • Experience developing or overseeing bridging documents and alternative delivery projects.
  • Proven ability to manage constructability, phasing, and occupied-facility challenges.
  • LEED accreditation and experience coordinating sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience mentoring staff and contributing to practice growth.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $150,000- $155,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
