& Responsibilities

Onto Innovation is seeking a Customer Development Application Engineer (CDA) focused on developing and deploying inspection solutions for advanced semiconductors. As a CDA engineer you will focus on implementing new inspection tools and new features into customers’ sites worldwide. Working closely with product line application teams and collaborating with Engineering, Sales, Marketing teams bringing Onto innovation’s latest technology to the field, working closely with our customers, understanding their technical problems and finding solutions. Driving Beta’s, head to head’s, SOW’s, JEP’s. Strong analytical capabilities are a must alongside results oriented mindset and strong communication both towards customers and HQ.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead the d2d of key engagement in the field, driving Beta’s, H2H’s, SOW, JEP and execution of product line goals in the field. You must be tech savvy and understand technically the customers’ processes in-depth, requirements, roadmaps, specs and gain credibility and trust in technical discussions. You serve as a bridge between HQ product line and customers thus quantified, articulated, engaged and proactive communication is a key merit. You are essentially Onto inspection ‘boots on the ground’ for driving engagements and winning H2H’s.

You will support Marketing teams to articulate technical use cases, Onto system value, deliver technical insights and requirements for future customers nodes.

You will work with multiple interfaces in the company – HQ Apps, Engineering, Marketing, local field Apps and PLC. Positive, proactive and teamwork attitude mindset is critical for success in this role.

Travel: As needed, up to 70%. Support all Onto Inspection customers WW. Your team HQ is Taiwan.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Control, Mechanical, Optical, Robotics or other Engineering fields associated with Semiconductor Manufacturing. Master’s or PhD preferred.

• Experience: Minimum 2-6+ years in the semiconductor industry, preferred customer facing technical engagements. Semiconductor process experience is a major plus.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.

• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Fab Process Engineering, Inspection and/or Metrology, Yield Engineering, etc.

• Exceptional customer relationship management skills, with ability to resolve high-tension high-urgency situations with an amicable and calm presence.

• Preferred - knowledge of Inspection and/or Metrology systems and methodologies in Semiconductor industry

• Strong analytical capabilities, Simplify complex analysis with the ability to deliver a clear message/conclusion in a quantified manner

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills using data driven approaches to influence and drive decisions

• Strong organizational skills to stay on top of multiple projects

• Clear communications style with emphasis on pragmatic focus on outcomes

• Ability to thrive in high-urgency, fast-paced environments with cross-cultural teams

• ‘Can do’ attitude, results oriented, team player, details focus, enjoy multi-cultural working environment
