Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a Full time opportunity for a Senior Application System Analyst. This role is based can be based out of our offices in Stellarton; NS, Calgary; AB, Mississauga, ON.
Key Responsibilities
Business & System Analysis
• Translate business requirements into detailed user stories and technical specifications.
• Document platform flows, data integrations, business rules, and system behaviors for offer management.
• Design and implement improvements to enhance functionality and user experience.
• Identify and document technical and operational requirements for proposed solutions.
Project & Enhancement Delivery
• Collaborate with development, QA, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of enhancements.
• Support sprint planning and prioritization in AgilePlace.
• Lead story refinement and release readiness discussions.
• Develop comprehensive test plans with detailed test cases.
• Provide accurate time and effort estimates based on analysis and design documentation—for both yourself and team members.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
• Facilitate regular syncs with cross-functional teams (e.g., COE, Advanced Analytics, Customer Care) to ensure a shared understanding of platform capabilities and upcoming changes.
• Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business objectives into actionable system requirements and clearly communicating impacts.
Production Support & Sustainment
• Serve as an escalation point for production issues; triage incidents in coordination with development and support teams.
• Assist with root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and ensure documentation is updated post-resolution.
• Provide after-hours support for critical application issues when needed.
• Manage incidents in alignment with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Observability.
• Optimize Azure resources to ensure scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Maintain application stability and availability to support high system uptime.
• Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise security and regulatory standards.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
• Maintain current documentation, including system changes, architecture diagrams, low-level design, regression test suites, service definition documents, and KT artifacts.
• Promote cross-training within the team and contribute to a culture of shared knowledge.

What you have to offer:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system analysis.
• Strong understanding of system integrations, API interactions, and data flows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross-functional and vendor environments.
• Proven experience working in Agile teams, with the ability to write clear and actionable user stories.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA, AgilePlace, ServiceNow, New Relic, and Confluence.
• Industry experience in retail, loyalty, or marketing technology preferred.
• Familiarity with Azure-based platforms, microservices, or cloud-native applications is a strong plus.
• Experience with personalized offer platforms, segmentation, or marketing automation tools is an asset.
