Apex.AI is seeking an experienced Senior Application Engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience working directly with product teams and global customers to deploy safety-certified software for SDVs (software-defined vehicles), ADAS / autonomous systems, and smart machine applications. As a Senior Application Engineer at Apex.AI you will collaborate across South Korea, Japan, Europe, and the US and help customers bring production programs to market using Apex.OS ( Apex.Grace and Apex.Ida).
Joining Apex.AI means working from South Korea with a global team of experienced and talented engineers on real production programs with companies such as HL Klemove, MOIA, and Brunswick building the safety-certified software foundation behind next-generation ADAS, autonomous mobility, and software-defined vehicles.
You will develop, deploy, and support Apex.OS while partnering closely with customer engineering teams and our internal development team to create a high-quality product. This role includes direct customer interaction. You will participate and drive technical workshops, integration support, issue debugging, and occasional on-site collaboration to help customers deploy Apex.OS-based solutions. In addition, you will have opportunities to contribute features to our core products and gain deep technical knowledge of Apex.OS. If you love to code in C++ and enjoy working with others, this is the perfect role for you.
This role is a hybrid role, located in our South Korean office in Pangyo, with an expectation of regular days in the office. Authorization to work in South Korea is required.

The company’s flagship product, Apex.OS, consists of two core components: Apex.Grace and Apex.Ida.
Apex.Grace is an application runtime framework in the form of a software development kit (SDK). It provides a robust framework for developing real-time, reliable, and safe applications. Core APIs are based on ROS 2 APIs with numerous extensions enabling real-time execution, reliable performance, deployment into large fleets, system state management, safety, security, and much more. It is safety-certified to ISO 26262 ASIL D.
Apex.Ida is a communication middleware delivering optimal high-performance data transport across use cases. These use cases range from fully autonomous vehicles with dozens of high-resolution cameras to small signals with ultra-high frequencies in safety-critical domains. Its core is based on a shared memory data transport with connectors into DDS, SOME/IP, MQTT, CAN, and many more protocols, all abstracted into a single application facing API.
Additionally, Apex.AI offers:
Apex.Alan provides customers with a highly optimized and efficient software integration, development environment, build, test, and delivery process.
Apex.OS for V&V enables record and playback of very large and diverse data streams, both time- and data-deterministically, which is crucial for replay, analysis, and performance evaluation of complex autonomous systems.
Apex.AI’s software solutions are utilized across a diverse range of industries, including automotive, agriculture, medical, and defense sectors. The products enable developers to efficiently create and deploy safe, reliable, and high-performance applications, thereby accelerating the adoption of software-defined mobility systems. Through its innovative software solutions and strategic partnerships, Apex.AI is at the forefront of transforming the mobility industry, facilitating the development of next-generation vehicles and systems.

Our software products are based on proven open-source software, such as ROS or Eclipse iceoryx. We fork software that has been developed and proven in use by large developer communities. We then add what is missing: Functional safety, flawless performance, and support for application in commercial and safety-critical products. In order to do so, we have developed a proprietary process to rework open-source software in record time such that it conforms to the highest requirements of the applicable functional safety standard.
Distinguished by our experienced and agile team, we bring in the right pedigree: Expertise in modern software engineering to build software that scales, leading know-how in software functional safety, experience bringing software to market, and twenty-plus years of experience building autonomous systems.
We launched our award-winning first product Apex.Grace, formerly known as Apex.OS in 2020 and have taken it through certification in record time for launch in 2021. We enable software-defined vehicles. Learn more about us at www.apex.ai
