We are seeking a Senior Application Development Engineer to join our team of technical experts that drive innovation in in the engine room of this large industrial transformation.

The Senior Application Development Engineer role for E&E and Clean Energy is a multi-faceted customer / market facing position responsible for driving new business growth through an entrepreneurial mindset. The Senior Application Development Engineer is responsible for:

Responsibilities

YOU will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Build and cultivate a strong horizontal and vertical network with influencers and decision makers in the development departments of our strategic growth customers
  • Build a strong Project Pipeline by scouting, targeting and identifying new growth opportunities at new and existing customers
  • Drive application development projects from initiation to commercialization
  • Illustrate the Celanese product value propositions and influence key decision makers along the value chain
  • Possess in-depth industry/segment knowledge to anticipate trends and changes and bring internally “Voice of the Customer” and new product/technology development opportunities
  • Perform preliminary evaluations on selected new technologies, market applications or market segments
  • Collaborate with global commercial teams (Sales, Marketing) and T&I to ensure project/pipeline delivery
  • Support/participate in growth teams and share experience/knowledge internally to foster innovation

Qualifications

What YOU will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or Engineering (Chemical Mechanical, Plastics or Equivalent) required
  • 8+ years of experience of working in the Plastics or E&E Industry, ideally in application development or other technical functions like e.g. CAE support, FTS support and T&I
  • Strong understanding of the material selection and the plastics conversion process
  • Results driven, self-motivated with a growth mindset
  • Understanding of project & pipeline management
  • Good verbal & written communication skills in English and French is a must
