Senior AppDynamics APM Engineer "
Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, deployment, and configuration of AppDynamics APM across enterprise applications, infrastructure, and services.
* Develop and maintain custom dashboards, health rules, and alerts for critical applications and business transactions.
* Analyze performance metrics and transaction traces to identify application bottlenecks, code-level issues, and infrastructure dependencies.
* Collaborate with application developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot performance issues and provide actionable recommendations.
* Maintain and optimize AppDynamics controllers, agents, and extensions for scalability and efficiency.
* Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers on APM best practices and AppDynamics usage.
* Integrate AppDynamics with other monitoring and alerting platforms (e.g., Splunk, ServiceNow, PagerDuty).
* Participate in performance testing and capacity planning initiatives using AppDynamics insights.
* Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for internal knowledge base.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years of experience in application performance monitoring and IT operations.
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with AppDynamics APM, including controller and agent management.
* Strong understanding of application architecture (Java, .NET, microservices, APIs, databases).
* Deep knowledge of transaction tracing, business transaction modeling, and performance baselining.
* Experience with scripting or automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker).
