Sr. Android Engineer Wellframe

Wellframe is a digital health management platform that helps health plans offer convenient and personalized resources to their members, such as a mobile app, a staff dashboard, and care and navigation programs. Wellframe also provides data science and analytics to measure and improve member engagement and experience. The platform is designed to empower health plans to extend their reach across more critical touchpoints, uncover valuable health insights, and deliver modern member services that improve member engagement and experience.

Wellframe’s Digital Health Management solutions have been shown to increase the utilization of preventive medicine services by 29%, reduce inpatient admissions by 17%, and reduce ER utilization by 9%. The platform meaningfully engages more people, more efficiently with Wellframe’s patented member mobile application and staff dashboard. It also supports the whole person in one solution with care and navigation programs that span the entire healthcare journey.

Wellframe partners with health plans to provide digital health solutions for Digital Care Management, Clinical Advocacy, and Member Advocacy. The platform delivers a personalized, seamless digital experience while promoting brand recognition and loyalty. It also quantifies the impact on care cost and quality with robust analytics.

We are seeking an adept Senior Android Engineer to join our highly dynamic and collaborative user-facing member experience team. Our ideal candidate is passionate, creative, and curious about mobile technology. Candidates must be comfortable with Java, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android Studio, and object-oriented design. 

Responsibilities 

• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate intricate requirements into scalable, innovative technical solutions. 

• Seek innovation by exploring and implementing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance product offerings.  

• Develop expertise with device integration, accessibility, and best-in-class user experiences. 

• Contribute code reviews and improve team processes. 

• Work on complex technical challenges within software systems, ensuring robustness, compliance, and customer satisfaction.  

• Contribute to shaping the technical roadmap, and taking ownership of its success.  

Requirements 

• A B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. 

• 3+ years of experience building native Android applications in Kotlin and Java, with strong expertise in Jetpack Compose. 

• Experience with design patterns and architectural patterns such as MVVM, and Clean Architecture. 

• Proficiency with SOLID principles, dependency injection frameworks (Dagger, Koin), and Android Architecture Components (ViewModel, LiveData, Flow, Room). 

• Deep knowledge of Android UI development including Material Design guidelines, custom views, layouts, themes, styles, and animations. 

• Strong experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and networking libraries (Retrofit, OkHttp). 

• Hands-on experience integrating and working with third-party SDKs and APIs. 

• Expertise with Android Studio, Gradle build system, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines. 

• Experience with testing frameworks including unit testing (JUnit, Mockito) and UI testing (Compose Testing). 

• Understanding of performance optimization, memory management, and debugging techniques. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
