Job Description

Senior Analytics Engineer

Payment Orchestration Platform | Limassol, Cyprus | On-site (3 to 6 months remote runway before transition) | EUR 5,000 to 5,500 gross/month

About the Client

A payment orchestration platform connecting 1,000+ payment methods and providers across 185 countries, with AI-driven retry logic built to reduce payment failures and lift approval rates for clients in e-commerce, travel, gaming, retail, and SaaS. The data function is scaling to support the next phase of AI-driven product.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Data, this is a hands-on engineering role with two phases. First, the infrastructure build: optimise the batch data warehouse, establish Git version control and CI/CD, and get the most out of a fully managed GCP stack to ready the data ecosystem for real-time AI modelling. Second, the analytics layer: take ownership of the semantic reporting layer, write production LookML, build the data models, and turn the infrastructure into dashboards and business intelligence that the wider business runs on.

Location and Relocation

The role is ultimately on-site at the Limassol headquarters. To support a smooth move and a strong mutual fit for anyone considering relocating to Cyprus, the client offers the flexibility to start fully remotely for the first 3 to 6 months before transitioning on-site. Relocation support to Cyprus is provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, scale, and maintain the core data warehouse and pipelines on managed GCP services, optimising ingestion from production databases and external syncs.
  • Build low-latency data models that serve clean data to predictive models, real-time routing engines, and BI tools.
  • Introduce CI/CD and Git, unit testing, and security controls supporting warehouse stability and PCI-DSS / SOC 2 compliance, with an eye on cloud cost efficiency.
  • Own the Looker semantic layer end to end, writing clean, scalable code and translating raw data into clear reporting.

Must-Have

  • 5+ years in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or BI development, with a strong engineering emphasis and a track record of building data warehouses and semantic layers from scratch.
  • Expert SQL and Python.
  • Hands-on GCP, specifically BigQuery, plus a transformation framework (Dataform or dbt).
  • Git version control and modern data modelling.
  • Fluent English.

Nice-to-Have

  • Looker / LookML in production (a clear differentiator; treat as core if the client confirms it is non-negotiable).
  • CI/CD frameworks for data, unit testing discipline.
  • Managed orchestration (Cloud Composer / Airflow).
  • Payments or fintech domain exposure, PCI-DSS / SOC 2 environments.
  • Fluency with generative AI coding assistants, applied with independent verification.

Package

Competitive base of EUR 5,000 to 5,500/month, breakfast and lunch allowance, birthday day off, private medical, ESOP, relocation support, modern Limassol office.
