MPI is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to become a member of our IT department in Studio City. This hybrid role requires an independent contributor who will be responsible for the design, development, and support of enterprise analytics and business intelligence solutions.
This position plays an integral part in developing and supporting analytics platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Alteryx, and SSIS. Successful candidates will have the ability to leverage strong SQL skills to deliver trusted, governed, and scalable data solutions. You’ll work closely with business users to translate requirements into actionable insights while ensuring data quality, performance, and compliance.

What You Will Need:
• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer or Data Analyst
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems/Technology or a related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Strong experience in building and maintaining data pipelines using MS Fabric, model and transform data using Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse.
• Experience in documenting data models, reports, pipeline logic, and understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Strong experience with Power BI, including data preparation, data modeling, DAX, and report optimization, with the ability to develop and maintain paginated reports using Power BI report Builder for operational and detailed reporting needs.
• Strong Alteryx experience, including workflow development, optimization, and operational support
• Proficiency in maintaining and supporting SSIS packages is required
• Experience administering and supporting Alteryx Server, including upgrades, MongoDB backups, and issue resolution
• Advanced-level Microsoft Excel skills for analyzing datasets and identifying trends or inconsistencies
• Experience providing production support for BI and analytics solutions
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent attendance and reliability, with the ability to work extended hours as needed.
• Ability to accept direction and developmental guidance from supervisor.
• Experience in regulated industries such as insurance, healthcare, and financial services preferred.
• Experience supporting self-service BI and governed analytics environments and a familiarity with modern data governance/compliance preferred.

What You’ll Do:
• Design, develop, and deliver interactive Power BI datasets, dashboards, reports, and stories that are easily understood
• Build, deploy, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS, Alteryx, and Microsoft Fabric
• Design, create, and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
• Design, develop, deploy, and manage Alteryx workflows and analytic applications
• Provide daily operational and production support for Power BI, Alteryx, and other BI solutions, including dashboards and reports
• Ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and scalability across analytics solutions
• Apply data governance, lineage, sensitivity labeling, and compliance standards using Microsoft Purview
• Ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA and other applicable regulations) in all aspects of data utilization and access
• Collaborate with business users and IT partners to translate requirements into effective analytics solutions
• Communicate professionally with technical and non-technical audiences through written, verbal, and formal presentations.
• Participate in design and peer reviews within the department
• Stay current with BI and data analytics trends, tools, and best practices

Compensation & Benefits:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $125,000 - $145,000 annually. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.

About Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans

The Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans (MPI) are trust funds established by collective bargaining agreements between many of the unions and employers in the motion picture production industry. They are primarily supported by employer contributions as provided by these agreements.

The Agreement establishing the Motion Picture Industry Health Plan was signed on October 20, 1952 and the Agreement establishing the Motion Picture Industry Pension Plan was signed on October 26, 1953, by various employers in the Motion Picture Industry and over 40 Unions and Guilds representing employees in the Motion Picture Industry.

Contributions are received from employers engaged in the production of motion pictures or engaged primarily in the business of furnishing materials or services for motion picture productions and which have entered into a collective bargaining agreement(s) with one or more participating unions.
