The Senior Workday Analyst provides expert functional and technical support for the global Human Resource Information System (HRIS) function. Under the direction of the Director of Global HR Technology, you’ll translate business requirements into scalable Workday configurations, streamline processes, improve data quality, and deliver insights that help leaders hire, onboard, develop, and retain talent. You will partner closely with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, and HR to drive enhancements from discovery through testing and deployment, ensure strong governance, and prepare the organization for Workday releases.

Major Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key resource and subject matter expert (SME) in terms of Workday system functionality for functional areas that include: HCM, Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent Management and Learning.
  • Gathers, defines and implements system requirements, including but not limited to preparing and executing functional and technical specifications, test plans, system testing, and development of processes and procedures.
  • Performs basic to advanced system configurations including core tables, business processes, workflows, condition rules, calculated fields, notifications, user security and report writing.
  • Support Workday Recruiting functionality including requisitions, candidate life cycle management, offer processes, and interview workflows.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to optimize recruiting processes and improve recruiter, hiring manager, and candidate experiences.
  • Configure hiring workflows, templates, questionnaires, communication automation, and candidate statuses.
  • Configure and maintain onboarding business processes, notifications and tasks.
  • Partner with HR to deliver a consistent new hire experience.
  • Support performance management, goal management, talent reviews, career development, feedback, journeys, career hub, skills, and talent planning processes.
  • Configure annual and ongoing talent cycles including performance reviews and succession planning activities.
  • Configure learning enrollment rules, content assignments, certifications, and learner notifications.
  • Partner with Learning & Development teams to support configuration and user experience of Learning.
  • Identify, verify, design, and implement system enhancements and business process improvements for key HR processes.
  • Performs day-to-day operations, maintenance, and functionality for HR systems, including but not limited to system upgrades, troubleshooting root cause analysis and resolving issues.
  • Primary liaison between HR and IT teams to ensure an appropriate functional and technical resolution to business issues.
  • Represent HR Systems team with cross-functional, HRIS-related projects, including implementation, system enhancements, creating functional specifications, managing change control, and all testing.
  • Own module specific biannual Workday Releases: impact assessment, regression testing, feature adoption as approved, and stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborates with the HR team regarding the proper security needed for creating/modifying security roles and ensuring effective business processes. Ensures roles are created properly and contain the proper access to HR systems.
  • Build and maintain EIBs for mass updates
  • Review current HR system functionality for possible improvements, troubleshooting issues, testing new features, and developing and delivering end-user training materials.
  • Plan and execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing; and create specifications for systems to meet approved business requirements.

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Certification / License

Work Experience

  • At least 5 years' experience supporting Workday configuration in areas such as HCM, Recruiting, Talent Management, Learning and Onboarding.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong project management and process management skills
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of HR processes, procedures, and policies to translate business requirements into the system.
  • Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and facilitate teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.
  • Position requires compliance with legal requirements and strict confidentiality of records and information.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, accuracy, problem-solving, critical thinking
  • Strong time and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of employees and management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience supporting Workday configuration in areas such as HCM, Recruiting, Talent Management, Learning and Onboarding.
  • Previous system implementation experience; Workday a plus
  • Experience administrating Applicant Tracking System
  • Experience with Workday Journeys, Campaigns, Skills Cloud, Career Hub, and Talent Optimization.
  • Background in supporting HR functional processes (Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, core HR, etc.)
  • Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects
  • Experience configuring reports and analytics
