Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Analyst / Senior QA Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in the SS&C Advent Geneva investment accounting platform. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and executing complex testing cycles for Geneva upgrades, patches, and custom enhancements, with a strong focus on quality assurance, regression testing, data validation, and change management. This individual will play a key role in ensuring platform stability, operational accuracy, and successful deployment of functional updates.

Key Responsibilities

Geneva Platform Ownership:

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for the Advent Geneva platform across the organization.
  • Lead analysis, configuration validation, and functional review of new Geneva releases, hotfixes, and custom workflows.
  • Collaborate with accounting, operations, technology, and vendor teams to understand impact and requirements for updates.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Design, implement, and execute comprehensive regression test plans for Geneva upgrades and environment refreshes.
  • Lead end-to-end functional testing, including validation of accounting calculations, security setups, instrument types, pricing, P&L, and NAV impacts.
  • Develop automated and manual test cases, ensuring full coverage of core and peripheral Geneva modules.
  • Coordinate and track defect management, retesting, and resolution with internal teams and SS&C Advent support.

Change Management & Deployment:

  • Own the testing lifecycle for Geneva version updates—planning, environment setup, test execution, sign-off, and go-live support.
  • Assess operational risk of changes and provide recommendations for release readiness.
  • Create and maintain testing documentation, regression scripts, SOPs, and release notes.
  • Support UAT processes for downstream systems interfacing with Geneva (e.g., data warehouses, reporting tools, reconciliation systems).

Operational & Release Management:

  • Own the testing cycle for quarterly/annual Geneva updates used in fund administration environments.
  • Prepare formal documentation including regression test scripts, results summaries, SOPs, and release sign-off packages.
  • Evaluate operational risks associated with changes and advise senior stakeholders on readiness for go-live.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) for accounting teams and ensure that workflows remain compliant with internal controls and audit standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Act as a bridge between technology, middle-office, operations, fund accounting, and vendor teams.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Support incident analysis and troubleshooting of Geneva-related production issues.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of hands-on experience with Advent Geneva, including upgrade cycles, configuration, and module functionality.
  • Expertise in regression testing, test case development, and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of investment accounting (multi-currency portfolios, corporate actions, derivatives, performance, fee calculations).
  • Prior experience working in a buy-side, hedge fund, asset manager, or fund administrator environment.
  • Competency with SQL and data analysis tools for testing and validation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks or QA scripting tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and release management frameworks.

Knowledge of integration between Geneva and reconciliation, reporting, or data warehouse systems
