Ally and Your Career

Ally Financial only succeeds when its people do - and that’s more than some cliché people put on job postings. We live this stuff! We see our people as, well, people - with interests, families, friends, dreams, and causes that are all important to them. Our focus is on the health and safety of our teammates as well as work-life balance and diversity and inclusion. From generous benefits to a variety of employee resource groups, we strive to build paths that encourage employees to stretch themselves professionally. We want to help you grow, develop, and learn new things. You’re constantly evolving, so shouldn’t your opportunities be, too?

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.

The Opportunity

Ally’s CRA team is a highly specialized group within the Bank dedicated to positively impacting communities through CRA‑qualifying loans, investments, and services. While compliance with the CRA is a regulatory requirement for all FDIC‑insured banks, at Ally it is a mission‑driven effort. The team manages a ~$5 billion portfolio that supports affordable housing, community services, economic development, and neighborhood revitalization.

The Operations Sr. Analyst – CRA will be responsible for the day‑to‑day monitoring and servicing of a $2.75 billion portfolio of CRA‑qualified equity investments. These investments span private credit, private equity, venture capital, real estate, and affordable housing funds.

This role partners closely with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Compliance, Tax, Legal, Internal Audit, and external fund managers to ensure accurate processing, reporting, strong controls, and audit‑ready documentation. The Operations Analyst will also play an important role in identifying opportunities to streamline, standardize, and automate operational processes.

At this time, Ally will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.

  • Prepare CRA investment financial reporting and portfolio roll forwards, including variance explanations and management-ready summaries.
  • Support CRA documentation and evidence management by organizing records required for CRA eligibility, community development purpose, and internal governance, audit, and regulatory needs.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Finance during monthly and quarterly close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial recording consistent with internal standards and controls.
  • Identify key controls and apply risk frameworks to mitigate operational and reporting risk; maintain procedures and support audit and exam readiness.
