Job Description

Job Title: Senior Analyst - Medical Analytics

Career Level: D1

Introduction to role:

Are you ready to turn complex engagement and evidence data into decisions that accelerate real medical impact? Do you want your analysis to shape how resources are invested, how content lands with experts, and how patient benefit is demonstrated across diverse therapy areas?

Based in Chennai, this role operates where performance analytics meets strategic intelligence. You will partner with Medical leaders and field teams to define what success looks like, measure what truly matters, and translate patterns into clear guidance that influences strategy. Your insights will help determine where to focus, which channels and messages perform, and how value is demonstrated across disease areas and tumor types.

You will join a high-velocity, digitally savvy team that leans into accountability and moves from question to decision with pace. Expect to balance challenges with pragmatism—knowing when to dive deep and when to move forward with imperfect data—so that decisions can be made at the speed of the business.

Accountabilities:

Strategic Insight and Performance Measurement: Synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform Medical planning, resource allocation, and engagement strategy across regions and therapeutic areas.

Measurement Frameworks and metrics: Design and implement measurement frameworks that go beyond activity counts to capture engagement quality, content resonance, channel optimization, and strategic outcomes. Define and refine performance metrics aligned to Medical scorecards to drive the right behaviors.

Impact Assessment: Quantify the value of Medical initiatives by connecting activities to outcomes, identifying performance patterns across territories and customer segments, and recommending actions that improve effectiveness.

Requirements Translation and Analytics Alignment: Elicit and translate customer needs into analytical specifications that delivery teams can implement. Challenge unclear or unmeasurable requirements constructively and propose practical alternatives that move initiatives forward.

Cross-Functional Delivery: Produce quarterly business reviews that surface trends, risks, and opportunities, with clear recommendations. Implement ad-hoc strategic analyses for urgent leadership questions, balancing speed with analytical integrity.

Enterprise Collaboration: Partner with Commercial Analytics to align customer engagement measurement and share insights. Collaborate with Clinical Development on evidence generation metrics and clinical insights relevant to Medical strategy.

Data and Advanced Analytics Partnership: Work with data and AI/ML teams to access enterprise data assets, leverage advanced capabilities, and identify automation opportunities that accelerate insight generation.

Analytics Innovation and Automation: Evaluate emerging approaches and technologies for Medical use cases and champion pragmatic adoption when it adds real value. Explore workflow optimization and process automation to increase analytical efficiency.

Data Quality and Integrity: Validate data sources, identify anomalies, and raise issues appropriately. Promote data standards that strengthen trust in metrics and insight.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Life Sciences, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field)
  • 6-8 years of analytical experience with demonstrated ability to translate business questions into structured analytical approaches
  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare proven experience with exposure to Medical Affairs, Commercial operations, or Clinical development
  • Proven track record delivering strategic insights that influenced business decisions and resource allocation
  • Experience in matrix organizations where influence without authority and cross-functional collaboration are essential

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Medical Affairs domain knowledge including customer engagement models, content strategy, omnichannel approaches, or evidence generation
  • Experience working across business units or therapeutic areas in global pharmaceutical organizations
  • Background in performance measurement and impact assessment methodologies
  • Requirements elicitation and collaborator management experience in analytical or business intelligence contexts
  • Advanced data manipulation and analysis skills using modern analytical tools and platforms; ability to query databases and combine multiple data sources
  • Proficiency with self-service BI for exploration, hypothesis testing, and insight discovery; statistical literacy to design robust measures and interpret results
  • Process mapping and visualization skills to document workflows and analytical approaches
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-assisted analysis for pattern recognition, automation, or predictive insights; programming or scripting (Python, R) is a plus
  • Executive-ready communication and insight storytelling that connects data to strategic implications; strong written communication for business reviews and documentation
  • Customer management across functions, levels and cultures; excellent English proficiency
  • Self-starter with a pragmatic execution attitude who sees opportunities and drives projects forward with resilience and empathy
