Job Description

The IT Service Continuity Senior Analyst is responsible for the development, governance, maintenance, testing, reporting, and continual improvement of IT Service Continuity Management capabilities across the organisation.
The role ensures critical services have documented, tested, and maintainable recovery arrangements that align to agreed business recovery objectives and enterprise resilience requirements.
The position works closely with service owners, technology teams, suppliers, cyber security teams, and business continuity stakeholders to ensure recovery readiness and resilience remain embedded throughout the service lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities
1. IT Service Continuity Ownership and Governance
Responsible for maintaining the IT Service Continuity Management framework.
Responsibilities include:
• Support and maintain the ITSCM framework, policies, standards, and procedures.
• Ensure continuity requirements are embedded into service lifecycle activities.
• Maintain governance over recovery planning activities.
• Ensure continuity controls remain current and effective.
• Support the ongoing maturity of continuity management practices.
• Provide subject matter expertise across the organisation.
2. Recovery Planning and Assurance
Ensure recovery plans are robust, accurate, and supportable.
Responsibilities include:
• Maintain technology recovery and service recovery plans.
• Review critical service recovery documentation.
• Validate recovery strategies against business requirements.
• Coordinate annual review cycles for recovery plans.
• Ensure recovery ownership is clearly assigned.
• Track remediation of identified recovery gaps.
3. Continuity Testing and Exercising
Coordinate and govern continuity testing activities.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop annual continuity testing schedules.
• Coordinate disaster recovery and service recovery exercises.
• Facilitate simulation and recovery testing activities.
• Record and report testing outcomes.
• Ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented.
• Track completion of remediation activities following exercises.
4. Business Impact and Recovery Alignment
Ensure recovery capabilities align to business requirements.
Responsibilities include:
• Support Business Impact Assessment activities.
• Review Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs).
• Review Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).
• Ensure continuity requirements align with critical business processes.
• Identify gaps between recovery requirements and technical capabilities.
• Support prioritisation of remediation activities.
5. Risk Management and Resilience Assurance
Drive visibility of continuity risks across the environment.
Responsibilities include:
• Maintain continuity-related risks and issues.
• Support operational resilience assessments.
• Identify vulnerabilities impacting service recovery.
• Escalate material continuity risks.
• Monitor remediation plans and recovery improvements.
• Support enterprise risk management activities as required.
6. Supplier and Third-Party Continuity Governance
Ensure external providers support organisational resilience requirements.
Responsibilities include:
• Review supplier continuity arrangements.
• Validate recovery commitments and support models.
• Participate in supplier resilience reviews.
• Ensure supplier recovery obligations are understood and documented.
• Track supplier continuity risks.
• Support continuity assurance activities involving critical service providers.
7. Continual Improvement and Maturity
Drive continual improvement of resilience and recovery capabilities.
Responsibilities include:
• Analyse recovery performance and test results.
• Identify opportunities to improve resilience.
• Drive implementation of lessons learned.
• Support resilience improvement initiatives.
• Promote continuity awareness throughout the organisation.
• Benchmark capabilities against industry leading practices.

• Maintain the IT Service Continuity Management framework.
• Coordinate disaster recovery and service recovery testing.

Required Experience
The successful candidate should have 5+years global enterprise accountability in:
• IT Service Continuity Management.
• Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
• Technology operations and service management.
• Business Continuity Management environments.
• Managing resilience and recovery programmes.
• Conducting continuity assessments and gap analysis.
• Supporting audit and compliance activities.
• Working with critical technology services and infrastructure.
• Supplier management and governance.
• Enterprise-scale IT operational environments.
Required Skills and Capabilities
• Strong knowledge of IT Service Continuity Management principles.
• Good understanding of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery practices.

• Experience with ServiceNow Business Continuity or ITSM modules.
