Job Responsibilities

  • Provide level 2 application support, minor projects and request fulfilment.
  • Front incoming incident tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues
  • Provide incident resolution management and root cause analysis techniques to determine cause and resolve complex system issues.
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required.
  • Record, track, and document the incident-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Post software updates, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on company intranet to assist in problem resolution.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, and so on.
  • Facilitate to assess and remediate all server and cyber vulnerabilities identified by Cybersecurity.
  • Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.

Job Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • ITIL certification or experience working within ITIL-based service management environments will be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in application support, software development, or a related technical role.
  • Strong development experience in .NET technologies (ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, .NET Framework 3.5 and above), JavaScript, HTML5, JSON, XML, and scripting.
  • Knowledge of Java and Microsoft SQL Server, including database development, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting IIS web services, Windows services, and enterprise web applications.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications, including incident management, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and production support.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, analyzing user needs, and proposing appropriate technical solutions.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle practices, including source control, build management, continuous integration, and change management.
  • Experience with SSRS, SSIS, web application deployment, and Microsoft Windows environments is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of TFS, Azure DevOps, or similar source control platforms is advantageous.
  • Experience with application performance tuning and SQL query optimization is a plus.

Other Prerequisites

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of application architecture, software design principles, and system integration concepts.
  • Knowledge of multi-threading, networking concepts, and authentication frameworks is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to provide after-hours support during critical incidents, maintenance activities, and system recovery exercises.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
