Position responsible foraccurateandtimelyaccounting for investments and investment programson an IFRS, USGAAP, STAT basis along with financial statement reporting support, regulatory reportingsupportand managerial reporting support.

Accounting encompassesImplementation of accounting guidance and policy;Investment system set up review,monitoringtransaction set up and processing oversight monitoring and maintenance ofinvestmentsystem feed to general ledger and other systems used for reporting support (IRDB, BRDB, GRDB). Financial statement and regulatory reporting support encompasses legal entity/reporting entity level review and analysis of accounting for investments. Managerial reporting support encompassesportfolio line of business metric review of accounting for investments.

Whatyou willdo:

  • Responsible for the presentation in the general ledger ofaccurateaccounting for investmentsby accountingbasis and legal entity.

  • Responsible foraccurateaccounting in the sub-ledger system.

  • May be tasked with monthly Inv Sub-ledger System close process.

  • Reads, understands,questionsnew guidance and policy papers from Internal Technical Accounting Group and/or Management.

  • Implements accounting guidance and policy andassistswith implementation of new or updates to guidance/policy

  • Has conceptual and researchskillsto research, read and understand technical accounting pronouncements issued by FASB, SEC, NAIC, OFSI, IASB and others.

  • Responsible foraccurategeneral ledger presentation of accounting for investments.

  • Understands and supports theaccuratepresentation ofinvestmenttypes on financial statements.  Understands categorization from general ledger to financial statements andrequireddisclosures per basis. 

  • General ledger presentation includes implementation of all guidance related to investments including reviewsof general ledger results and reconciliationsmonthly

  • Reconciles and answers to any accounting issues on investments.

  • Assistswith implementation of new or updates to guidance/policy. Assists with F/S documentation and disclosure support.  May be requested to review F/S or disclosures.

  • Works to supportinvestment reporting teams in their preparation of F/S  Prepareand/or support F/S, regulatory, or managerial reporting efforts monthly and quarterly.

  • Responsible for responding to andassistingwith audits on investmentsincludes financial audits, regulatory audits, internalauditsetc.

  • Periodically reviews set up forinvestmentssystemfor investmentsandGL feed. Test newinvestmentsystem releases for allprocessing forinvestments. Participates/assists with new system implementations. Transaction, monthly pricing, security SMF set up oversight and control - daily/monthly/quarterly

  • Special Projects as assigned

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financerequired

Whatyou will bring:

  • 4-6 years of related accounting experience; and Investment experience

  • CPA and / or MBA preferred

  • Advanced Excel skills preferred

  • Intermediate MS Access skills

  • Strong accounting theory skills, research skills andproblem-solvingskills

  • Strong conceptual skill in data movement, moderate IT skills

Base Salary Range

$83,400.00 - $117,750.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
