(Senior Analyst) - Indirect Sourcing Generalist (Category Execution)

This role will be specific to the facilities and operations category and will be expected to be more of a generalist
expert in this area.

Accountabilities
Category Execution Support
● Deep dive and understand the requirement well and ensure smooth execution of agreement/contracts on time.
● Collaborate with key stakeholders, team members and leaders of the respective category to churn out a commercially beneficial agreement.
● Develop RFX.

● Provide input to the Category Performance framework and provide metrics related to category performance
● Continuously track & monitor the tasks as per the metrics defined.
● Analyze the spending across sub-categories while taking a broader strategic view to optimize the overall output.
● Identify areas of opportunity to reduce waste and establish reduction targets.
● Establishing relationship with internal business partners; building a robust understanding of business
direction, requirements and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories; Rationalize
specification

● Execute the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
● Providing guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies; maintain sourcing ethics in accordance with News Corp’s global policies & methodologies
● Work with senior cross-functional internal customers as well as the Business Sourcing Partner to define detailed business requirements with designated business units, prioritizing business requirements and taking them through approval process.
● Execute change management within designated business units to increase utilization of best sourcing practices and procurement solutions
● Assists the Business Sourcing Partner in business unit capacity and demand planning forecasting customer business unit demand
● Check the pipeline tracker regularly and ensure timely execution of agreements post BU stakeholder confirmation.
● Keep the tracker/tools/system up to date without failure.
Vendor Management (Evaluation, Negotiation, Selection, Qualification)
● Support the evaluation, negotiation, selection and qualification of vendors
● Support the negotiation of contracts with selected suppliers leveraging tools/technology or supplier contract template including but not limited to Software as a Service, comprehensive Master Services Agreements, Master License and Service Agreement, Statement of Work, Amendments, etc. and
negotiation global preferred supplier agreements, following the legal guidelines.
● Execute SOWs of complex and strategic nature through creation to approval
● Manage escalations to the legal department appropriately, as needed
● Partner with the contract management team regularly Critical Experiences | Competencies | Abilities
● Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree or equivalent degree required, MBA is a plus.
● Minimum 5 years of global sourcing experience, specifically in the facilities, logistics and operations category
● Minimum 2-3 years of sourcing transformation experience (e.g., significant prior experience in all elements of sourcing and category management)
● Embraces fact‐based decision making; naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and cost modeling
● Proven written and oral communicator, with strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills to act as an
effective change agent, unlocking barriers to value for priority spend categories
● Expert negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations.
● Strong project management skills, including adhering to stakeholder timelines, and meeting management skills
● Extensive knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms.
● Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organization, and works easily in multi-business unit project settings; able to facilitate teamwork across corporate boundaries.
● Contract drafting experience as well as excellent understanding of contractual terms, both commercially and legally.
