About the Role

Position Title: GFCD Technology - Financial Crimes Innovation, Analyst

Corporate Title: Sr. Analyst

Reporting to: Global Head of Financial Crimes Innovation

Location: Bangalore

Job Profile

Purpose of Role

This position will be responsible for supporting a team that continually evaluates new and existing technology within and tangent to the financial industry in order to identify new technology machine learning (traditional, agentic, and generative AI) and RPA (Power Automate, Copilot, Copilot Studio) solutions for the bank.

The incumbent will concentrate on creating AI and RPA routines using a variety of end user tools including Microsoft Power Automate and Keyence as well as creating models using machine learning Python, R Studio, etc., tools and agents/large language models within cloud infrastructures (e.g., AWS, Azure) working closely with Financial Crimes stakeholders who will advise the use cases corresponding to any internal development for an optimal platform solution.

The incumbent will also analyze vendors and conduct trial exercises while working closely with users in all GFCD regions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively across functional teams within GFCD to ensure optimal innovation vendor is selected based on stakeholder requirements
  • Serve as the initial point of contact with vendors identified as providing innovative solutions to stakeholders
  • Using end user development skills such as Microsoft Power Automate, Keyence, Python, R Studio, etc., develop end user Robotics and Machine Learning models based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Using end user development skills associated with agentic and generative models found in AWS and Azure environments, develop end user solutions based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Using subject matter expert skills associated with cloud environments, identify cloud environment tools that are available to GFCD for native building of solutions (e.g., AWS Bedrock, DataBricks, Azure Open AI, etc.), including pros and cons assessment of environments and available tools.
  • Support the Innovation team’s end user development group by providing maintenance and support services for all group developed automation.
  • Monitor areas of innovation in the banking industry for proactive financial crime risk identification and ascertain suitability for implementation within MUFG.
  • Perform continuous evaluation of available solutions that are active in the marketplace or financial space.
  • Create supporting documentation to evaluate vendors for trial exercises, including interaction with Third Party Risk Management, Software Assessment, and similar MUFG groups
  • Create supporting documentation for Request for Proposal engagements; coordinate RFP vendor notification, collection of responses from vendors and scoring from stakeholders, analyzing responses, and preparing results presentations to senior management
  • Maintain management reporting on Innovation program initiatives
  • Assist in the creation of business requirements documents and other reporting documents where necessary.
  • Execute data analysis used in Financial Crimes innovation projects

Candidate Profile

  • Skills and knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of financial crimes systems including KYC, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, and Case Management.
  • Knowledge of database structures, back-end functions, and data environments (such as Enterprise Data Warehouses).
  • Experience interacting with compliance subject matter experts.
  • Collaborative with strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Systemic thinker across enterprise
  • Process oriented coupled with a strong ability to develop appropriate program enhancing strategies
  • Detail-oriented and organized execution and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work autonomously and initiate and prioritize own work
  • Ability to work with teams of project managers
  • Solid judgment, strong negotiating skills, and a practical approach to implementation – including knowledge of Bank systems
  • Strong knowledge of tools that enable data analysis, such as MS Access, Toad, SQL Navigator.
  • Education & professional qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Analytics or other related fields.
  • Experience
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in end user computing development using Robotics tools (Power Automate, Copilot, etc.) or machine learning products (e.g., Python, R Studio).
  • A combination totaling 1-3 years of experience in developing agentic and generative models using cloud environment tools (e.g., AWS Bedrock, DataBricks, Open AI).
