About the role | Mō te tūranga

Rabobank Australia and New Zealand (RANZ) Financial Economic Crime (FEC) domain exists to safeguard customers, the bank, and society by detecting and preventing financial and economic crime.

Due to an internal promotion we have an opening for a Senior Analyst - Financial Economic Crime First Line Monitoring and Assurance based in Wellington. You will join a highly engaged team who work a hybrid mix of office and from home.

In this role, you will support the adoption of effective risk management within FEC Operations and play an important part in ensuring the bank’s compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Countering Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Sanctions requirements. Your area of expertise is broad with a focus on supporting FEC control testing requirements.

Collaborating closely with teams across Australia and New Zealand, you uphold high-quality standards, ensuring accurate and timely identification of issues, as well as providing up to date reporting on assurance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct First Line Monitoring reviews supporting end to end control testing across Customer Due Diligence (new & ongoing), Transaction Monitoring, Name Screening, International Funds Transfer Instruction, and Fraud.

  • Apply analytical thinking to interpret data, identify trends and deliver meaningful insights.

  • Prepare clear, concise monthly reporting to key stakeholders.

  • Engage with business stakeholders to discuss testing outcomes and possible improvement opportunities.

  • Identify operational gaps and support remediation activities ensuring issues are addressed effectively and within required timeframes.

About you | Ō pūkenga

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with the following experience, capabilities, and attributes:

  • 5+ years’ financial crime experience within Banking/Financial Services, with a strong focus on control testing.

  • Demonstrated capability in performing and supporting operational effectiveness control testing in complex environments.

  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Knowledge of key regulations, including AML/CFT and FATCA/CRS.

  • Confident communication and presentation skills, especially when engaging senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • High quality written and verbal skills.

  • Continuous improvement mindset and strong change agility, with the ability to adapt and contribute to evolving processes.
