As a climate leader, Westpac New Zealand seeks to provide best in class climate reporting. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our external reporting team as Senior Analyst External Reporting (Climate), to play a critical part in our climate-related reporting under the Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards (NZ CS).

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Climate Reporting within the Finance department, you will support the delivery of Westpac New Zealand's Climate-related Disclosures. As a key member of the team, you will work to ensure our climate-related reporting meets external reporting standards and stakeholder expectations and adheres to internal governance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with internal stakeholders across the business to co-ordinate and support their respective inputs to the report.

  • Drafting and updating content for the report that meets external and internal requirements for regulatory disclosure, when required.

  • Producing analysis for continuous improvements across methodologies, processes and disclosure best practice.

  • Conduct ongoing benchmarking of climate-related disclosures against peers.

  • With the wider team, ensure our climate-related reporting meets external requirements for regulatory disclosure.

  • With the wider team, ensure our climate-related reporting follows internal due-diligence processes.

  • Supporting the wider external reporting and Finance teams as required

Essential

  • Strong project management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders across all levels of the business

  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards

  • Understanding of climate change issues, including related risks and opportunities for financial institutions

  • Experience with financial/regulatory reporting

  • An interest in working in the area of climate change.
