The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
In this role you will lead the integration of final manufactured commercial laundry products from concept through production validation. Coordinating with all cross functional stakeholders and supporting staff.
-Responsible for system integration of cost reduction (P4G) projects from Planning (Idea Bank) to Execution (G0-G4) through the -Whirlpool Product Development process.
-Responsible for technical problem solving and knowledge gap closure.
-Development of cost idea bank pipeline and scoping of new initiatives.
-Evaluate Manufacturing requests to decompose project objectives, scope and constraints and support Day to Day operations.
-Collaboration with cross-functional teams on project Business Case.
-Accountable for project schedule and budget (eng. expenses and capital) governance.
-Delivery of Projects as per commitment to meet P2 and P4G.
-Ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality & performance targets to support the project plans.
-Lead technical Design Reviews for the project to provide an assessment of whether the project is within the architecture/project/product plan guardrails.
-Responsible for driving full system validation through use of predictive validation methodologies in concept, design and product validation stages.
-Change management to monitor the changes, risks, actions and decisions during a project.
-Drive simulation of virtual prototypes and build of physical prototypes per V&V Plan.
-Drive closure of DFMEA action plans and updated Occurrence & Detection, based on Concept and
-Design Validation data and functional performance stacks.
-Responsible for coordinating Engineering Builds with cross-functional project teams
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
5+ years of product development experience from concept to design release
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, chemical or manufacturing engineering
Familiarity with CAD software and data analysis tools (SAP, Google Sheets, Smartsheets, Solidworks, etc.)
Knowledge of DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, construction reviews, requirements management, OpEx tools and methodologies.
knowledge of Metal fabrication and welding process (Metal forming - laser & breaks, Welding - Mig and Spot / Resistance)
Systems Engineering knowledge - INCOSE ASEP or CSEP Certification
Experience facilitating effective communication across teams.
Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects
