ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

TheEngineer, costingwillbe responsible for development costing operations,partnerwith sourcing development and brand stakeholders to drive best in class costing processes andseasonal developmentcosting that support 100’s of millions of dollars’ worthinproduct cost across several VF brands, products and countries.This individual will support modernization and standardization of costing approachesutilizingconsistent data-driven,automatedand efficient processes in partnership with VF product sourcing teams and Vendors in country of manufacturing.This individual will bring a strong product and manufacturing background and will work closely with the product sourcing and development teams on designing to cost to achieve product cost savings for the organization.This individual will fullyleverage“One VF” scalethrough the use ofharmonized and scalable fact-based costingmethodologies and will playan important rolein the development sourcing organization with an extensive focus on development costing optimization.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE(but not limited to):

  • ConnectivityChampionconnectivity and seamless information sharing acrossvendors and cross-functional stakeholders withinbut not limited tothe sourcing, brand, material, planning organization.

  • Operations:Manage seasonal development costing milestones and activities.

  • Profitability:Lead negotiation with vendor partnersutilizinginsights and fact-based costing methodologies as well as product engineering todesign tohigher profitability.Work closely with development sourcing on vendors allocations by providingFOB & Landedcosting perspectives to support sourcing strategies

  • Governance:Ensure costing process adherence by costing operations teams as well as vendors. Track and report on key metrics to ensure established processes are fully aligned with the performance,efficiencyand transparency needs of the costing organization

  • TeamDemonstratesstrong leadership byensuringthe best standards ofperformance,collaborationand partnership across the product supply organization.

  • Process Improvements:Achieve improvements in costing activity productivity and efficiency through eliminatingredundancies, automatingrepetitivetasksand optimizingprocesses for maximum value.  

  • Project Leadership and participation:Lead andparticipateinvariouscross-functional initiatives and conduct specific analyses as needed producing deliverables in a diverse, fast paced environment through extensive collaboration across teams

  • Digital and analytical mindset with a passion for efficiency and process innovation

  • Abilityto work under pressure in fast paced environmentwith multiple on-going priorities.

Skill Requirements:

  • Min3years of experience in industrial garment manufacturing/ buying office/ trading companyrequired

  • Ability to understand technical specifications, Bill of Materials, garmentconstructions.

  • Knowledge in fabric weaving,constructions, different dyeingprocesses will be a plus.

  • Knowledge in different embellishments,eg.Print techniques, embroidery, quiltingwill be a plus.

  • Experience in sweaterknits,accessories will be an advantage.

  • Ability to influence and drive consensus.

  • Experience in adopting change, business processredesignor process reengineering.

  • Strong negotiations, analytical and reasoning skills 

  • Eagerto learn and adopt new methods, tools, technologies

  • Strong in Microsoft offices – especially excel andpowerpoint

  • Good communicationskills: diplomatic, open, good listener, direct, succinct

  • Language Proficiency: Oral and written fluency in English
