JOB SUMMARY

1. Client Management Officer (“CMO”) is responsible for client outreach and correspondence, client on-boarding and periodic review (e.g. KYC), all operational matters (e.g. account opening, loan or facility disbursements, drawdowns, payments or collections etc), facility pricing renewals, transactional approvals etc. Assist client coverage team to drive facilities utilization.
2. The role may include leading and guiding a team of credit managers.
3. Familiar with banking facilities and services with in-depth experience in handling client documentation and negotiation.
4. Able to assess and streamline documentation and operational processes.
5. Client facing role with close collaboration with Relationship Managers (“RM”) and Assistant Relationship Managers (“ARM”) teams.
6. Providing cross-border support by facilitating on-boarding of client (outbound) and documentation across SMBC network.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Drive utilisation and be in constant communication with clients to address their operational needs. Close collaboration with product teams and back-office teams.
2. Preparing and issuing facility letters for new facilities and/ or renewals, as necessary.
3. Work closely with legal counsels (internal and/or external) and RM teams on documentation. Facilitate negotiation with clients and/or Facility Agents and obtain necessary approvals from the appropriate stakeholders.
4. Streamlining documentation and operational processes, for better efficiency and meeting clients’ expectations whilst preserving the bank’s interests.
5. Taking charge of client on-boarding and ensuring timely KYC reviews.
6. Monitor clients’ accounts conduct and escalate any anomaly to the relevant RM team and/or management.
7. Support Local Relationship Manager (“LRM”)/ Global Relationship Manager (“GRM”) to manage client relationships and facilitate deal execution (including documentation) within SMBC network for both inbound and outbound business.
8. Assist RM team in preparation of sales pitch and marketing materials.
9. Join RM for customer visit/ site visit on a periodic basis.
10. Adherence to internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
11. Providing cross-cover for Business Support team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Academic Qualification (Degree / Diploma etc.) / Professional Qualification / Certification

Degree or professional qualification in business administration, accounting, finance, economics or other related discipline.

Working Experience (Years / Type)

Possess a qualified degree in related field, at least 5 years of corporate banking related experience and/or customer service and marketing related skillset.
