Job Description

About us:
Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.

Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.

We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.

Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.

We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.

The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our supportive, global Legal & Risk team in a dynamic and varied role focused on managing risk in relation to new business acceptance. You will lead on conflict checks, client due diligence and risk assessments, while advising lawyers on legal and reputational considerations. Working closely with colleagues across the firm, you will help ensure compliance with professional rules and relevant laws, safeguarding the firm’s reputation.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and analyse conflict checks for new business using Intapp Conflicts, working closely with Conflicts lawyers to resolve legal and commercial issues.

  • Conduct comprehensive client due diligence and anti-money laundering checks, as well as proportionate due diligence on counterparties where required.

  • Advise lawyers on new client acceptance, client identification procedures, AML queries, sanctions and reputational risk, with support from Financial Crime lawyers.

  • Review and clear submitted matter forms, and establish and maintain appropriate information barriers.

  • Support the supervision and development of Analysts, providing timely, constructive feedback and day-to-day guidance.

  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new joiners to the Business Acceptance team.

  • Provide guidance on client engagement terms, firm policies, procedures and best practice.

  • Contribute to Legal & Risk projects and know-how initiatives, supporting continuous improvement across the function.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven conflicts experience with a strong understanding of a range of matter types, deal structures and the application of conflicts rules.

  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to assess complex legal issues and balance regulatory obligations with commercial considerations.

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to provide practical, well-reasoned and creative advice.

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • A collaborative, adaptable and professional team player, with a strong work ethic, a flexible mindset and a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.
