Job Description
The Electronic Data Senior Analyst serves a key role within the Electronic Data Management (EDM) function of the DLA Piper International Litigation & Regulatory Group. The Senior Analyst is a primary point of responsibility for data intelligence services on matters with repeatable workflow, assists EDM peers as needed on complex matters, and provides high-value service delivery to internal clients in Litigation & Regulatory and other groups and to external clients as directed.
Main duties and responsibilities
Whilst this list is not exhaustive, we anticipate that some of the key areas of focus and responsibility will require the successful applicant to:
- Execute on data intelligence services for small- to medium-size matters with repeatable workflow, including scoping, collection, processing, search, review facilitation, production/disclosure, and analysis of third-party data.
- Serve as the primary point of responsibility for small- to medium-size matters, and as a resource for complex matters under the guidance of senior team members.
- Understand the urgency of requests, respond timely, and manage expectations for updates and deliverables.
- Cultivate internal client relationships with lawyers and all firm practice groups and deliver solutions in the context of their practice.
- Understand the full context of a matter and leverage that understanding to offer proactive guidance.
- Manage risk throughout engagement by evaluating quality control measures and documentation throughout each project, strategizing to pre-empt and correct mistakes, communicating challenges, and escalating issues internally and externally where appropriate.
- Provide stakeholders with status updates and reports for all project milestones and deliverables.
- Seek regular feedback from internal clients to continually improve service.
- Provide proactive guidance regarding format, strategy, and timelines for data processing, import, and export tasks.
- Prepare and deliver review software training on each matter, tailored to the review protocol.
- Leverage structured and conceptual analytics, continuous active learning, and generative AI wherever possible to increase efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with Law& and business service functions to deliver integrated solutions with cognitive diversity.
- Meet or exceed utilisation and recovery targets, thereby contributing directly to firm revenue.
- Enter and release all time daily, following time entry policy.
About you
This role is designed to deliver data intelligence capability for a range of service needs across the international firm. Whilst we do not indicate a specific level of experience required for any of our vacancies, we are ideally seeking an individual with significant skill, experience and characteristics as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS, accounting, finance, business administration, economics, mathematics or law.
- Experience in most stages of the Electronic Data Reference Model (EDRM) built at an international law firm, eDiscovery/eDisclosure service provider, consultancy, or similar.
- Proven project management experience for matters with repeatable workflow.
- Good problem-solving skills and an orientation toward finding solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to build good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and tasks around intense deadlines for clients, with a proven track record of delivery.
- Experience with a range of processing and review platforms, including (but not limited to) RelativityOne and Nuix.
- Experience with legally aligned generative AI platforms in use on client matters is strongly preferred.
- Project management, eDiscovery, or platform certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, ACEDS, Relativity Certified Administrator) is preferred.
