Job Description

Join our team as a Senior AML Analyst. Drive compliance, own transaction monitoring, and lead EDD investigations.

Location St Julian's, Malta

Responsibilities:

  • Act as an advanced Subject Matter Expert on AML/CFT frameworks, ensuring operations continuously align with multi-jurisdictional licensing obligations and internal risk appetites.
  • Oversee complex investigations, conduct thorough reviews of unusual player activity, and draft high-quality Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for direct submission to the MLRO.
  • Conduct and oversee ongoing transaction and behavioral monitoring, identifying emerging high-risk typologies, affordability red flags, and complex financial crime patterns.
  • Lead deep-dive Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) investigations, setting the benchmark for rigorous Source of Funds (SoF) and Source of Wealth (SoW) verification standards.
  • Lead complex investigations into PEP screenings, sanctions matches, and adverse media, ensuring precise risk scoring and timely, decisive resolutions.
  • Proactively contribute to the enhancement of the company’s AML/CFT procedures, automated detection rules, and player affordability assessment frameworks.
  • Guide, mentor, and contribute to the upskilling of junior team members through regular Quality Assurance (QA) reviews, KPI analysis, and feedback loops to drive operational excellence.
  • Partner closely with the MLRO on ad-hoc regulatory reporting, audit preparation, and compliance projects across the group.

About you:

  • Minimum 3+ years of AML/CFT experience within the iGaming or Financial Services sector, with a proven track record of handling high-risk cases and regulatory complexities.
  • Expert knowledge of international AML/CFT frameworks, sanctions compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Exceptional analytical acumen with a natural "investigative instinct", capable of autonomously identifying patterns, connecting disparate data points, and conducting deep-dive risk assessments.
  • A passion for guiding, mentoring, and upskilling junior analysts, as well as providing constructive feedback through QA frameworks.
  • Strategic problem-solver with an affinity for automation and compliance tech, capable of leveraging emerging tools to optimise detection rules and streamline monitoring workflows.
  • Native-level or fluent professional English (written and verbal), with the ability to translate complex information clearly and in a concise manner.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and open-minded, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

What’s In It for You?
