Tuknik Government Services (TGS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior AI/ML Technical Lead with an active TS/SCI clearance to support AI/ML initiatives at Fort Belvoir, VA. This is a hybrid position with the possibility of some remote work. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

This technical leader will drive architecture decisions, stakeholder engagement, verification framework integration, and operational transition of AI/ML and large language model (LLM) solutions in direct support of critical Army analytical operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design and maintain end-to-end AI/ML solution architectures, including LLM-based systems and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, aligned with DoD and Army enterprise standards.
• Develop and integrate verification and validation (V&V) frameworks to ensure model performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Plan and execute the transition of AI/ML and LLM solutions into operational environments.
• Lead and mentor AI/ML development teams while translating customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Evaluate, fine-tune, and deploy large language models and generative AI capabilities for Army analytical use cases.
• Leverage hybrid cloud platforms to implement data management and machine learning solutions.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior Army leadership.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a relevant field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years specific to AI/ML development, deployment, or technical leadership.
• Demonstrated experience with AI/ML solution architecture, Python, and machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn).
• Experience with large language models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or LLM integration (e.g., LangChain, Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs).
• Experience with cloud platforms.
Required Skills and Competencies:
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive AI/ML projects from concept through operational deployment.
• Experience designing V&V frameworks for AI/ML models, including LLM evaluation and output validation, and executing operations handover into production environments.
• Familiarity with the AO chain and the ATO process for deploying AI/ML systems in government environments.
• Strong requirements-gathering skills with the ability to translate mission needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences, including senior military stakeholders.
• Willingness to work at Fort Belvoir, VA, with the possibility of some remote work.
Preferred skills:
• Prior experience with Army organizations, government agencies, or defense contractors.
• Knowledge of Army analytical frameworks, modeling and simulation, or operations research.
• Experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, and LLM orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps/MLOps practices, and version control (Git).

• Active TS/SCI Clearance
