Job Description

What’s the Role:

The Senior AI Security Engineer is a senior technical authority responsible for the development, delivery, and operation of enterprise-scale application security capabilities across the organisation. The role owns and maintains strategic security platforms and services, providing leadership across application security controls to ensure solutions are compliant, resilient, and fit for purpose. It enables secure software delivery at scale by embedding robust security practices within a complex, regulated technology environment while supporting the developer community

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a hands-on technical authority for application security, providing expertise across modern security controls in enterprise environments.
  • Design and deliver application security solutions covering SAST, software composition analysis, secrets management, container security, and supply chain security.
  • Own and operate security platforms and services, ensuring they are compliant, resilient, and available to engineering teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement of security tooling, focusing on scalability, sustainability, and effectiveness across development platforms.
  • Partner with engineering and platform teams to embed security into developer workflows, enabling automated and repeatable outcomes.
  • Lead automation of vulnerability identification, remediation, and prevention, while supporting teams through practical security guidance and education.

What do I need?

  • Proven ability to own and operate application security platforms end-to-end, ensuring availability, compliance, and ongoing effectiveness.
  • Strong track record delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable application security solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Ability to make risk-based security decisions, balancing security requirements with engineering and delivery outcomes.
  • Experience defining and maintaining enterprise-wide security standards, patterns, and authoritative guidance.
  • Capability to identify and address systemic security risks and control gaps, with appropriate escalation where required.
  • Demonstrated impact in improving application security maturity, including reducing repeat vulnerabilities and strengthening early detection across the SDLC.
