Senior AI Engineer (m/f/d)

You design and deliver end-to-end AI and agentic systems based on Large Language Models, RAG architectures, and cloud platforms. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, you translate real-world use cases into scalable AI solutions that are embedded into business processes.
Your focus is on building production-ready AI agents, not just prototypes – combining fast experimentation with solid engineering, architecture thinking, and measurable impact.

Budapest is one of our locations for this role – we also welcome applications from Poland and Greece.

• Design Agentic Systems: You design AI agent architectures, define clear boundaries between agentic and non-agentic components, and ensure alignment with target architecture, workflows, and compliance requirements.
  
• Build & Orchestrate Agents: You implement and orchestrate AI agents, integrate them into existing process landscapes, and define interaction points between multiple agents and systems. You ensure reliable deployment using modern containerized environments such as Docker.
  
• Integrate LLMs & Prompt Systems: You select and integrate suitable LLM providers, design prompts, system instructions, and guardrails, and build the necessary interfaces and tools for robust AI interactions.
  
• Develop RAG Solutions: You design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures, connect relevant data sources, and ensure high-quality, up-to-date knowledge retrieval across systems.
  
• Evaluate & Improve AI Systems: You define evaluation frameworks and KPIs such as accuracy, latency, cost, and reliability. You design test datasets, validate system behavior with stakeholders, and continuously improve models and architectures.

• AI & Agentic Systems: Strong hands-on experience with AI/ML systems, especially Large Language Models, NLP, and agent-based architectures, including real-world implementation of AI-driven solutions and business process integration.
• LLMs & Advanced AI Methods: Deep understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, self-hosted models, and explainable AI approaches.
• RAG & Data Architectures: Experience in building Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems and integrating structured and unstructured data into scalable, knowledge-driven architectures.
• Cloud & Platform Engineering: Strong experience designing AI solutions on cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, including AI/ML services, data architectures, and production-grade system design.
• Engineering & DevOps: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins or Bitbucket, combined with strong programming skills in Python and/or Java. Experience with SAP is huge advantage.
• Mindset, Communication & Languages: Senior-level, structured and self-driven working style with a pragmatic, prototype-first approach and strong ownership. Ability to explain complex AI concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. English is required, German is a strong advantage with supported learning opportunities.
