Job Description

The Senior AI Engineer is responsible for building, operationalizing, and scaling AI orchestration workflows and specialist data agents that deliver precise, context-aware, and evidence-backed responses to user queries. This role is central to delivering grounded, trustworthy, and enterprise-ready AI experiences

With 7+ years of engineering experience, including several years focused on AI/ML systems, the Senior AI Engineer combines hands-on implementation with system-level design, working closely with Data Engineers and App Integration teams to deliver end-to-end AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry and enterprise data platforms

Key Responsibilities

AI Orchestration & Agent Execution

• Design and implement AI orchestration logic using Azure AI Foundry, including:
  • Intent detection and classification
  • Intelligent routing to appropriate specialist agents
  • Parallel and coordinated agent execution
  • Response synthesis with clear evidence and citations
• Build reliable orchestration flows that balance response accuracy, performance, and cost.

Specialist Data Agents

• Develop and fine-tune domain-specific Specialist Data Agents aligned to business use cases.
• Enable agents to query, reason over, and summarize enterprise data effectively.
• Continuously refine agent prompts, tools, and execution logic based on model behavior and feedback.

Grounding, Explainability & Quality

• Ensure AI responses are:
  • Grounded in enterprise data platforms (Fabric, SQL, DAX, semantic models)
  • Explainable, traceable, and auditable
• Implement source attribution, reasoning transparency, and confidence indicators.

Responsible AI & Guardrails

• Implement guardrails, hallucination control, and safety mechanisms
• Apply Responsible AI practices including:
  • Prompt validation and safety checks
  • Bias awareness and mitigation
  • Evaluation of AI outputs for quality and reliability
• Align solutions with enterprise AI governance and compliance standards.

Cross-Functional Delivery

• Collaborate closely with:
  • Data Engineers to shape AI-ready datasets
  • App Integration Engineers to embed AI into user-facing applications
• Translate business questions and workflows into effective AI agent logic and orchestration flows.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

• 7+ years of overall software engineering experience
• 3–5+ years working with AI/ML or LLM-powered systems in production environments
• Proven experience delivering AI features end to end, from design to deployment

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with:
  • LLMs, AI orchestration, and agent-based systems
  • Azure AI services / Azure AI Foundry
  • Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), grounding strategies, and prompt engineering
• Strong experience integrating AI with enterprise data platforms (SQL, Fabric, APIs)

Responsible AI & Governance

• Practical understanding of:
  • Responsible AI principles
  • Safety filters, hallucination mitigation, and output validation
  • Enterprise AI governance considerations

Problem Solving & Communication

• Ability to translate business requirements into AI-agent workflows
• Strong collaboration skills across data, platform, and application teams
• Clear communication of AI behavior, limitations, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
