Sales technology is a massive market, and the shift to AI-native GTM motions is still early. We're building the company that defines how it plays out. We've raised $15M from Radical Ventures and Inspired Capital, backed by the founders of PyTorch and Google Cloud TPU, and Heads of Sales at Anthropic and OpenAI.
Our founders have done this before: David was co-founder and CEO of Triplemint, which he led to acquisition, and Zander was technical co-founder of Nomad Health (now post-Series D) and most recently led Platform at Hyperscience AI.
We're a 20-person team in downtown Manhattan building something that will be much bigger. Our engineering team is small and senior, and everyone has real influence on what we build and how we build it.
We're looking for an engineer who lives and breathes the current wave of AI. Someone who's building with agents outside of work, has opinions about the latest model releases, and wants to apply that energy to production systems used by large enterprises.
As a Senior AI Engineer at Spara, you will:
Build and iterate on the AI systems that power our agents across chat, email, voice, meeting assistants, and lead enrichment. We ship new agent capabilities regularly, and the surface area is expanding fast.
Work across multiple agentic systems, both customer-facing and internal. You won't be stuck on one thing.
Improve retrieval, ranking, and response quality in a system that handles real customer conversations every day. The feedback loops are tight and the stakes are real.
Contribute to how we evaluate and measure quality across the platform. We care a lot about evals and are investing heavily here.
Ship to production multiple times a day using a modern stack: FastAPI/Python, React/TypeScript, Postgres + pgvector, multiple foundation models (OpenAI, Anthropic), Google Cloud, Docker, GitHub Actions.
4+ years of engineering experience with meaningful time spent working with LLMs and related technologies
At least one startup under your belt. You know what it's like to build fast with a small team and wear multiple hats.
Deep familiarity with the agentic AI landscape. You follow what's happening, you've tried the new tools, you have opinions.
Proven ability to ship ML/AI systems in production, not just prototypes
Strong software engineering fundamentals across the stack
You're excited about the messy, fast-moving parts of building an early-stage AI company
Experience with retrieval systems, search, or NLP
Advanced degree in ML or a related field
Hybrid: 3 days per week in our office in downtown Manhattan (World Trade Center), with the option to work remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays.
