Senior AI Engineer

Our client is building AI technology to make healthcare more accessible and affordable at a global scale. Today, their AI clinician supports millions of real patient interactions. The next phase is scaling this system to billions of users while maintaining strict standards for medical accuracy, safety, and reliability.

This role is central to that effort.

WHAT YOU WILL BUILD

AI Decision Systems

Design multi model reasoning systems where specialized AI agents evaluate medical cases before conclusions are delivered
Build retrieval augmented pipelines that transform large volumes of clinical guidance into LLM ready knowledge
Fine tune and distill models to optimize performance, latency, and cost
Develop high throughput inference infrastructure supporting millions of real time consultations
Create custom reasoning workflows for complex medical domains

Clinical and Patient Data Infrastructure

Develop secure NLP pipelines that convert patient conversations into structured, compliant medical data
Integrate with national health networks to retrieve and reconcile electronic health records
Build intelligent routing systems that determine when AI manages care versus escalation to human providers
Generate clinical documentation aligned with provider specific standards and workflows

Safety, Reliability, and Scale

Implement real time emergency detection with rapid escalation to human oversight
Build validation layers designed for safety critical medical decisions
Engineer distributed systems to support rapid growth and peak demand
Design fail safe mechanisms for regulated healthcare environments

This role also touches voice and video AI, multilingual medical language processing, predictive health systems, and infrastructure designed for the next generation of patient interactions.

WHAT THE CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR

Background

Computer science degree or equivalent hands on experience
Strong quantitative or technical foundation
Track record of operating at a high technical bar
Founder level ownership mindset or early stage startup experience
Ability to work independently and collaborate cross functionally

Technical Experience

7 or more years of professional engineering experience with generative AI systems
Deep familiarity with modern foundation models and LLM platforms
Experience deploying production AI systems with real time requirements
Strong Python skills and experience with modern ML frameworks
Hands on experience with prompting, fine tuning, and model optimization

NICE TO HAVE

Experience building AI systems for healthcare or life sciences
Familiarity with clinical workflows and healthcare data standards
Experience designing AI systems with safety and bias considerations
Applied NLP experience in regulated or high stakes environments
Experience working with clinicians or healthcare organizations
Published research in AI or machine learning
Experience in Seed or Series A startups
Advanced degree in AI, ML, or a related field
