Role Summary

The CANA Senior AI Data Analyst is an adept leader in the Commercial and/or Federal analytics community. This is a senior technical position that requires a broad range of application experience, knowledge, and abilities to work independently and with a group, and to provide leadership through projects and tasks. This is a hybrid position; the on-site work will be within the Pentagon in support of Logistics Plans (LP) Division, Headquarters Marine Corps. Anticipated start date for this role is between 30 October 2026 and 1 December 2026. Position is contingent on contract award.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior AI Data Analyst will be a proven leader in the analytics community - commercial and/or Federal sectors. They will provide ethically derived analytical results to support high-impact decisions by CANA clients. The Senior AI Data Analyst will present themselves and their work professionally and represent CANA with the utmost pride in working group settings, professional forums, with CANA clients, and all company (internal and external) interactions. They have the ability to communicate at all management and technical levels - understanding and adapting appropriately for the environment.

The Senior AI Data Analyst will:

  • fill the role of primary hybrid lead analyst;
  • support CANA in program management for client activities and the remote (off-site) analytical support teams;
  • serve as task manager, technical contributor, and researcher. They will deliver analytical results based on the scope defined by the client and deliver within required time frames;
  • implement standards and tools to extract, synthesize, validate, and transform logistics data; and
  • develop predictive models, dashboards, reports and products, utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning to best support government decision-making.

In addition, the Senior AI Data Analyst is expected to collaborate with team members to determine how data science methods might be used to enhance the final product.

All CANA employees must work effectively across multiple web-based collaboration, knowledge management, file storage, and work environments. The CANA employee must quickly develop an ability to work effectively with technical teams by using these web-based technologies.

As a CANA employee, the Senior AI Data Analyst is encouraged to identify areas of service that CANA might provide to support worthwhile causes related to the employee’s areas of interest.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytics or a mathematically related curriculum. Master’s Degree in a mathematical or scientific-related field preferred.
  • 8 or more years combined experience in applying data science methods to problems.
  • Capable of executing activities within the life cycle of analysis and modeling and simulation development: problem definition, data analysis, model programming & development, verification & validation, graphical analysis, packaging results to include use of data visualization and business intelligence tools, and presenting results.
  • Experience applying AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch in support of building, training, and deploying deep learning models.
  • Working familiarity with modeling and simulation software such as ExtendSim and OptDef.
  • Experience programming in Python, R, and SQL or other scientific math programming languages.
  • Ability to lead projects and tasks and manage small groups of analysts.

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with how data is captured and used from Marine Corps logistics systems (e.g., TFSMS, GCSS-MC, MCPIC) and the ability to manipulate these sources for model input preferred.
  • Skilled communicator with experience routinely presenting to and collaborating directly with senior-level decision-makers in rapid-response or high-pressure settings.
  • Support the business development team with technical solution concept definition, design, and prototyping, and support current and future client engagements that may lead to expansion of existing or new business.

Travel

  • 15% travel expected annually

Security Clearance

  • Eligible for Secret or higher level clearance; an active Secret clearance is highly preferred.

Salary Range

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000. Position includes company benefits
