Oversees labor relations processes, negotiates labor agreements, and ensures consistent administration of collective bargaining agreements. Represents Management in the negotiation, implementation and administration of union contracts, interfacing with employees, union representatives and management.

Job Responsibility

1.Participates in negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.
2.Ensures timely and accurate administration of all collective bargaining agreements.
3.As an advanced subject matter expert, advises various departments in the interpretation and implementation of the provisions of bargaining unit agreements.
4.Performs analysis of collective bargaining agreement to develop interpretation of intent, spirit, and terms of contract.
5.Interprets union-management agreements and advises management in the negotiation and settlement of grievances under established grievance procedure.
6.Participates in arbitration hearings in partnership with stakeholders by proactively developing a strategy for each case.
7.Advises key stakeholders of labor relations considerations on issues and initiatives of system-wide impact and importance.
8.Monitors implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and working conditions, to ensure compliance with terms of labor contract.
9.Furnishes information, such as reference documents and statistical data concerning labor legislation, labor market conditions, prevailing union and management practices, for use in review of current contract provisions and proposed changes.
10.Promotes and implements positive labor relations initiatives.
11.Serves as technical lead in developing and administering various labor relations plans and procedures.
12.Develops and delivers labor relations training programs while working closely with leadership teams to identify labor relations development opportunities.
13.Prepares statistical reports using records of actions taken concerning grievances, arbitration and mediation cases, and related labor relations activities, to identify areas of opportunity.
14.Builds strong partnerships with site leaders and union counterparts to advance labor relations priorities and objectives. Works with senior executives and teams requiring guidance and insight into decision making.

Job Qualification

1.Bachelor’s Degree in Personnel Management, Economics, Business Administration or related field with an emphasis in Personnel Administration, Labor and Management Relations, required.
2.Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate degree, preferred.
3.Six (6) to ten (10) years progressively responsible experience in Labor Relations, including leadership experience, required.
