This senior advisor role contributes to Starbucks success by providing strategic oversight and guidance for U.S. and international green coffee warehouse operations as a Seattle-based partner, while leading and influencing key operational initiatives. The position advises on and governs operational plans for 3PL partners, ensuring alignment to service, quality, and cost objectives. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional leadership, effective relationship management, and the ability to influence without direct authority. The senior advisor partners across the end-to-end supply chain to identify opportunities, drive process improvements, and enable scalable, efficient operations.

As a senior advisor, Green Coffee Operations you will…

Operations Management

  • Lead global, multi-site green coffee warehouse operations in compliance with Starbucks quality and facility standards.
  • Deliver operational commitments through governance of scalable processes, programs, and standardized procedures.
  • Establish and manage KPIs, performance metrics, and scorecards to drive efficiency, service, and data-driven decisions.
  • Conduct audits with plant leadership to ensure compliance and advance continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strengthen operational capabilities through targeted training, development, and process standardization.
  • Maintain and enhance service levels across all client groups.
  • Oversee drayage and warehousing contracts, supporting strategy and negotiations to ensure performance, compliance, and alignment across cost, service, and capacity.
  • Drive network-wide operational strategy aligned to long-term supply chain and business objectives.
  • Lead vendor performance management through business reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Serve as escalation lead for complex cross-functional operational challenges.

Supply Chain Partnering

  • Partner across the supply chain to drive process, system, and tool improvements that enhance scalability and performance.
  • Engage internal customers and cross-functional stakeholders to align on evolving business needs, priorities, and solutions.
  • Influence and advise stakeholders by translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Lead initiatives that optimize end-to-end supply chain performance.
  • Monitor industry trends to identify innovation opportunities and emerging best practices.

Systems

  • Provide Oracle system support and troubleshooting for green coffee warehousing.
  • Lead system and process transformation efforts, including automation and digital innovation.
  • Partner with IT to deliver scalable system enhancements and integrated solutions.
  • Leverage analytics and reporting to generate insights and support strategic decision-making.

Planning

  • Support annual operating plan, budgeting, and forecast development.
  • Contribute to long-term planning, prioritization, and network optimization strategies.
  • Evaluate financial and operational impacts to inform decision-making and drive value creation.
  • Lead project execution, including performance tracking, reporting, and delivery.
  • Manage resources and expenses to meet departmental and organizational goals.
  • Oversee warehousing and drayage spend, driving cost optimization.
  • Lead scenario planning to support future growth and operational resilience.
  • Present insights and recommendations to leadership to guide strategic decisions.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in operations, supply chain, international business, or other applicable fields
  • 5 to 8 years of operations or supply chain management experience
  • Strong Oracle or other ERP background
  • Highly skilled and experienced in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Advanced skills in data visualization technology (Tableau and Power BI)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to recommend and implement solutions
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Ability to manage projects and the processes independently, including defining, developing, documenting, and executing multiple related tasks.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
