About the role

  • $102,303 - $107,362 + 12% super + 17.5% annual leave loading + 5 additional days health/wellbeing leave

Working within the Government Relations, Policy and Evidence Directorate, the Senior Advisor, Government Relations plays a critical role in advancing Our Watch’s engagement with
Australian governments as members of the organisation. The role contributes to
multipartisan engagement with Parliamentarians, Ministers, departments and
agencies to progress long‑term structural, legislative and policy reform to
prevent violence against women and promote gender equality.

About you

You are an experienced government relations professional with a strong understanding of
Australian government and parliamentary processes. You bring sound judgement,
political acuity and the ability to provide clear, timely and practical advice
to senior leaders. You are skilled at building trusted relationships across
governments and jurisdictions and producing high‑quality briefings and
materials for engagement with Ministers, Parliamentarians and senior officials.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
