The Team You’ll Work With:

**NOTE: THIS ROLE IS LOCATED IN WASHINGTON, DC. **

The Office of Federal Affairs coordinates the City's interaction with the Federal administration and Congress. The office keeps the Mayor and City agencies informed about pending or important issues affecting the City. The office also advocates on behalf of the city and is the DC liaison between the City and other cities seeking to work together on federal issues.

The Problems You’ll Solve:
The Senior Advisor will report to the Director of Federal Legislative Affairs.

Duties of the Senior Advisor are, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a liaison between the New York City Congressional Delegation, White House, and Federal Agencies and Administration officials, and relevant City agencies and offices, to oversee projects, and develop and implement strategic outreach to elected officials and advocates in furtherance of Mayoral goals.
- Coordinate with agencies, boards, commissions, organizations, and institutions relevant to Administration goals and policy initiatives, meet project goals and timelines, and review agency and interagency work product.
- Provide administrative support and coordination, including preparation of correspondence and briefing memoranda, background research, and information for the Director of City Legislative Affairs.
- Researching local, state, and federal laws, court decisions, and other legal documents, and working with the NYC Law Department to determine legal implications for various policy needs.

- You can work independently and within a fast-paced environment, as well as thrive in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- You are a self-starter who positively contributes to a learning culture and collaborative team and is willing to perform the full range of tasks required in a dynamic and rapidly responsive organization.
- You can quickly absorb complex technical concepts and brief senior staff across City Hall.
- You have thorough knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You have exceptional written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
- You have experience working with the agencies in the portfolio, a strong plus.

- Bachelor’s Degree required. Graduate Degree (MPA/MS), preferred.
- 8+ years of experience.
