About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

This is a specialist, insight-led role at the centre of ACC’s Enterprise Risk team. You’ll lead our Enterprise Risk Quality Assurance (QA) Programme, assessing the quality of risk information, identifying systemic issues and uncovering opportunities to improve how risk is understood and managed. Working closely with the Lead Advisors, you’ll turn quality assurance into clear, actionable insights that drive real change.

The appointing salary for this role is $107,000 – $130,000 based on experience and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance, and flexibility to change to a locked plan at any time.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead risk quality assurance: Design and deliver QA reviews to assess the quality, consistency and completeness of risk information (risks, controls, treatments) across ACC.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Identify systemic issues and capability gaps using QA findings to inform improvements to risk frameworks, tools, training and guidance
  • Strengthen risk reporting: Provide high-quality analysis to support Executive and Board reporting, including control effectiveness, treatment progress and risk hygiene.
  • Enable better risk practices: Partner with Lead Advisors by providing clear, evidence-based outputs that support constructive 2nd line challenge and improvement in business group risk practices.

If you’re naturally curious, detail-oriented and committed to improving how risk is understood and managed in practice, we’d love to hear from you.

You will bring:

  • Strong risk management experience: You will have three or more years’ experience working in s risk, compliance, assurance or risk advisory function (1st, 2nd or 3rd line).
  • Demonstrated quality assurance experience: Prior experience in risk quality assurance, control assessment or risk data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills: and attention to detail
  • Adaptability Ability to adapt quickly to new information or areas of work and manage time effectively.
  • Confident communication skills: Both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative mindset: and interest in lifting organisational risk maturity.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
