Senior Administrative Assistant, Stewardship

The Tŝilhqot’in National Government is based in Williams Lake, British Columbia serving six communities, including ʔEsdilagh, Tl'etinqox, Tl'esqox, Tŝideldel, Xeni Gwet'in, and Yuneŝit'in. The Tŝilhqot’in National Government’s mission is to support and empower Tŝilhqot’in peoples to exercise their rights to self-determination within their traditional territories in ways which reflect Tŝilhqot’in philosophy, values, experience and culture.

The Stewardship Senior Administrative Assistant is responsible for a wide variety of administrative duties in support of the Stewardship Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Duties include but are not limited to arranging travel plans, minute-taking and distribution, drafting both internal and external correspondence and organizing events and functions
  • Required to maintain confidentiality and to professionally interact with employees, management, and the public
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents
  • Manage and maintain schedules, appointments and travel arrangements
  • TNG portal use for retrieving referrals for staff
  • Other duties shall be assigned as necessary

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Diploma in Office or Business Administration or at least three (3) years’ experience providing support at a senior level in an Administrative role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of office procedures and practices
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Advanced MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have a valid BC Driver’s License, reliable transportation

Working Conditions

  • Travel may be required
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware
  • Overtime as required
  • Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required
