The Opportunity

Join a leadership team of actuaries, data scientists and engineers at the forefront of enhancing data to drive decisions at every level of our organization. The insurance industry is undergoing a data-driven, technology revolution and you will be in the driver’s seat.

Insurance pricing, underwriting, claims, and other core insurance functions are all looking for actionable insights that can be coaxed out of our data. You and your team will work with these business areas to realize this value & further embed data science in our operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of data scientists, actuaries and insurance professionals, encouraging collaboration, growth and continuous learning.

  • Guide the development and application of advanced pricing and analytics solutions across areas such as machine learning, price optimization, retention, claims, underwriting, marketing and fraud.

  • Partner with data scientists, actuaries, engineers and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions that support strategic business objectives.

  • Establish and communicate a clear vision for data and analytics capabilities, promoting a culture that recognizes data as a key business asset.

  • Drive the development, deployment and adoption of long-term tools and technologies that improve pricing capabilities and support business transformation.

  • Collaborate across functions to find opportunities, align priorities and deliver scalable solutions that create value for customers and the business.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in the general insurance industry.

  • Demonstrable experience as a project manager, developer, predictive modeler and principal communicator of solutions.

  • Amazing communication skills. You can translate and communicate sophisticated algorithms to non-technical experts. You are someone who understands that it is not enough to just have a great algorithm to generate agreement for the solution.

  • Excellent leadership skills. You constantly seek to improve the engagement, innovation and empowerment of our team members.

  • Subject matter expert. You are recognized as an expert in one or more areas of; actuarial pricing, underwriting, claims, predictive modeling, data science, marketing or other specializations.

  • A can-do teammate. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is needed to move projects forward.

What you’ll get:

  • The salary band for this position ranges from $150,000 to $170,000 Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
